2007 Michigan Wolverines Picks & Predictions
Michigan started 11-0 last year, but then lost at Ohio State and to USC, badly in the Rose Bowl. The Wolverines held their first 11 opponents to 12 points per game, but allowed the Buckeyes to score 42 and the Trojans 32. So now Michigan has lost three straight games to OSU and four consecutive bowl games. This year the Wolves return just ten starters, but six to what should be a very potent offense, including QB Chad Henne, RB Mike Hart and WR Mario Manningham. But the defense, which ranked tenth last year overall and held foes to 43 rushing yards PG, lost its top two tacklers, and three quarters of the defensive backfield. The 2007 Schedule, though, is accommodating, with Oregon, Notre Dame, Penn State and Ohio State all visiting the Big House. There are questions about this year’s defense, but Michigan has enough talent to be national title contender.
