2007 North Carolina State Wolfpack Picks & Predictions
North Carolina State started out 3-2 last year, which included wins over Boston College and Florida State. But the Pack lost their last seven games in a row, fove of them by a touchdown or less. So it was out with flaky head coach Chuck Amato, and in with former Marine Tom O’Bren, formerly the boss at Boston College. Wolfpack fans can say what they want about Amato, but he led State to five winning seasons in his first six in Raleigh, four bowl wins, and four wins over Florida State. This year NC State returns 13 starters, eight on offense, including a talented stable of RBs and a good set of receivers. But there are at least a couple of holes to fill on the offensive line, and despite starting the final nine games last year at QB, Junior Daniel Evans is no shoo-in to be the starter this season. The wolfpack defense ranked 36th overall but 85th vs the run last year, and lost DT Tank Tyler and a couple of starting linebackers.
