2007 Tennessee Volunteers: Picks, Predictions & Odds
NCAA Football Picks August 20th, 20072007 Tennessee Volunteers Picks & Predictions
It’s now been almost a decade since Tennessee won the SEC and the national championship, a fact coach Phil Fulmer is probably reminded of every day. Last year the Volunteers lost four games. to Florida, to LSU, at Arkansas and to Penn State in the Outback Bowl. The offense ranked 36th but just 96th in rushing at 110 ypg, while the defense ranked 50th. This year 12 starters are back, including senior QB Erik Ainge, but just five return on defense. UT lost its three best receivers, the left side of the offensive line, both starting DTs, three quarters of the secondary and a pretty good kicker. The Vols are 137-41 under Fulmer, and yet until Tennessee wins another SEC title, he’s on the hot seat. The entire season could hinge on how the Volunteers handle the first month, wich includes bouts at California and at Florida.
