2007 Texas A&M Aggies Picks & Predictions
Texas A&M won eight of its first nine games last year, but then fell to Oklahoma and Nebraska before upsetting rival Texas. The Aggies then laid a big egg in a Holiday Bowl blowout loss to California. Still, the nine wins were enough to save head coach Dennis Franchione’s job for the time being. The offense ranked 18th overall and eighth in rushing at 207 ypg, and the defense ranked 46th. This year nine starters return on offense, including four on the line, a great RB combo and QB Stephen McGee, who completed 62% of his passes last year, compiled a 12/2 TD/INT ratio and ran for more than 600 yards. The defense returns six starters, but must replace its two starting DTs and its top two tacklers. A&M last won the Big 12 in 1998, and a tough conference road slate consisting of visits to Texas Tech, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Missouri will keep that streak alive.
