Free Week 5 NFL Football Picks & Predictions
NFL Picks: Arizona vs. Saint Louis
Take Saint Louis Rams
Rams +3.5 This is the week for St. Louis as Arizona has not been able to get it done on the road this year and a big win over Pittsburgh puts them in dangerous letdown territory. St. Louis nearly pulled one out at home against division rival San Fran earlier this season. With as close as the games in this division have been this season, we won’t hesitate to take an overdue Rams team here catching better than a field goal at home.
NFL Picks: Seattle vs. Pittsburgh
Take Pittsburgh Steelers
3* on Pittsburgh Steelers -6 Pittsburgh will turn around and pick up a big home win over Seattle after losing to Arizona on the road last week. Seattle is just 14-33 ATS coming off a division win. The Steelers are on a 14-5 ATS run as a favorite of 3.5 to 9.5 points. They are 26-8 ATS in their last 36 games against a team with a winning percentage of 75% or better. The best teams in the league bring out the best in the Steelers. Pittsburgh wins this game by double digits at home. Bet the Steelers.
NFL Picks: Detroit vs. Washington
Take Washington Redskins
1* on Washington Redskins -3.5 The Lions picked up a big home win over conference rival Chicago last week. Detroit won’t be so fortunate against this tough Redskins defense Sunday. Washington is giving up only 16.3 points per game while the Lions are yielding a terrible 30.3 points per game this season. Detroit has been putting up point at will, but they won’t go for more than 20 against one of the best defensive secondary’s in the league. The Lions are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games. We will bet against a road underdog off an upset win by 10 or more points as an underdog the week prior. This is a 37-13 Situation with a 74% cash rate. The home team is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings between Washington and Detroit. Take the Redskins and lay the points.
NFL Picks: New York vs. New York
1 Unit on Jets/Giants Under 41 The Under is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings between the Jets and Giants. These teams bring out the best in each other defensively. 5 of the last 6 meetings haven’t surpassed a combined 30 points. The Under is 9-3-1 in the Giants’ last 13 home games. The Under is 9-2 in the Giants’ last 11 games in Week 5. The Jets are 42-25 Under in their last 67 games as a road underdog of 7 points or less. The Giants are 9-1 Under against good passing teams with a 61% completion percentage or better the last 3 seasons. The Jets don’t stretch the field and neither do the Giants. Each team relies heavily on the run and short passes to prolong drives. Cash in with the Under 41 points.

NCAA Picks: Oklahoma vs. Texas
Take Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma -11 The books have Oklahoma favored in this neutral field game and we’ll lay the chalk on them for a unit. The Sooners endured a terrible defeat last week against Colorado. That game has definitely lit a match under the Sooners’ butts. At 13-5 ATS over the last 2 seasons, the Sooners are one of the best covering teams in the nation. Texas nearly went down to UCF on the road and I don’t think this young team is ready for this big game away from home. The books would agree by the line that they have set. Lay the points.
NCAA Picks: Virginia Tech vs. Clemson
Take Clemson Tigers
1* on Clemson -5 Clemson will be hungry to get back in the win column after a tough loss on the road to Georgia Tech last week. Their home field will provide the intensity needed to overcome Virginia Tech Saturday. The Hokies lost their only road game in blowout fashion 48-7 against LSU. Their team is too young and inexperienced to handle a hostile environment like Clemson offers. Clemson is 14-3 ATS in home games after a game where less than a combined 29 points were scored in their previous game. Clemson is 10-2 ATS after allowing less than 275 yards in consecutive games. The Tigers’ defense will be up for the challenge against Virginia Tech today. Their offense is 2-dimensional with one of the best running games in America. They will give the Hokie defense fits. Take Clemson and lay the points
NCAA Picks: Cincinnati vs. Rutgers
Take Rutgers Scarlet Knights
1 Unit on Rutgers -3.5 Rutgers got upset by Maryland last week and you know they have revenge on their mind heading into this meeting with Cincinnati. The Bearcats will suffer their first loss of the season when they travel to Rutgers Saturday. Rutgers is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games bouncing back from a straight up loss in their last game. Rutgers is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with above a .500 record. Cincinnati is no pushover, but the Scarlet Nights have a very good team that will not lose on their home turf Saturday. Cash in with Rutgers as the favorite.
NCAA Picks: UNLV vs. Air Force
Take Air Force Falcons
3* on Air Force -4.5 Air Force is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings with UNLV. The Falcons have played 3 tough road games this season at Navy, BYU and Utah. They are a much better home team and this will be a much easier contest for Air Force when they play UNLV Saturday. UNLV is a miserable 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 road games. UNLV is 0-8 ATS in road games in the first month of the season over the last 3 seasons. The Falcons cover this spread with ease at home Saturday. Bet Air Force.
NCAA Picks: Wisconsin vs. Illinois
Take Illinois Fighting Illini
Ilinois -2.5 Illinois is ready to ruin Wisconsin’s unbeaten streak and really shake things up in the Big 10. Illinois is a perfect 6-0 ATS when playing against a top-notch team with a winning percentage over 75% over the last 2 seasons. Illinois is 2-0 ATS the last 3 seasons against the Badgers. The Illini will show the country just how far their program has come with another big win this week.
NCAA Picks: Stanford vs. USC
Take USC Trojans
USC -39 USC nearly went down last week. You will see the definition of what a fire getting lit under a team’s butt looks like in this one. USC won 42-0 last season at Stanford. This time USC gets to do the damage at home. If Stanford was crushed by Arizona State 41-3 last week in Palo Alto, you can only imagine how bad this one is going to be. Lay the points for a unit here.
NCAA Picks: Fresno State vs. Nevada
Take Nevada Wolf Pack
The Fresno State Bulldogs are just a shell of their former selves. They are just 12-23-1 ATS in conference away games over the years, including 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS in their last five. The offense has looked miserable led by QB Tom Brandtstater, who was only 8-of22 versus Louisiana Tech last week. On the flip side it would appear sophomore QB Tom Graziano is feeling more comfortable running coach Chris Ault’s Pistol offense. He has tossed 10 TDP’s in his last three games. Nevada is an unbelievable 15-3 ATS at home under coach Ault and an even more remarkable 12-0 ATS as a home favorite. Obviously the choice is simple. Take the Wolf Pack.
