2007 Wisconsin Badgers Picks & Predictions
Wisconsin took advantage of a weak non conference schedule, seven home games and the fact they didn’t have to play Ohio State to win 12 games in new head coach Brett Bielema’s first season in charge of last year, including a victory over Arkansas in the Capital One Bowl. The stats, such as a fifth ranked defense and a TD ratio of 45/13, look very good, but they beat exactly one team that won a bowl game. This year Wisconsin returns 16 starters, though the losses include two year starting QB John Stocco, All-everything QT Joe Thomas and both starting safeties. The Badgers are lucky, though, to have a choice of two pretty good possible replacements for Stocco. And RB P.J. Hill, a 1500 yard rusher as a freshman, is back. Wisconsin has enough to make a run for the Big Ten title, but, as so often is the case, their entire season might well come down to how they fare against Michigan and Ohio State.
