USC Trojans Predictions
The Trojans have another great quarterback at the helm in John David Booty. With a great offensive line in front of him and another year of seasoning under his belt, Booty should put up big numbers. What makes USC really dangerous is their excellent defense, which may be the best Pete Carroll has had during this tenure with the Trojans.

California Golden Bears Predictions
The Golden Bears still have QB questions and their defense has been gutted, but there’s still enough talent to reach the top of the PAC 10.

UCLA Bruins Predictions
The Bruins have a ton of starters coming back and should be solid on both sides of the ball.

West Virginia Mountaineers Predictions
Late season injuries to QB Pat White and RB Steve Slaton derailed the Mountaineers at the end of last season. With both stars healthy, West Virginia has one of the best backfield combos anywhere. The schedule is more favorable this season and should lead the Mountaineers to the top of the Big East

Louisville Cardinals Predictions
The Cardinals have a stellar offense led by Heisman contender QB Brian Brohm. If Brohm stays healthy they’re a definite National Championship contender.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights Predictions
The Scarlet Knights over performed last season and may have trouble matching last year’s feats in the tought Big East. Ray Rice leads what should be an improved offense.

Virginia Tech Hokies Predictions
The top defense in the ACC has eight starters returning, and the offense should be improved with a more experienced quarterback plus running back Branden Ore strong out of the backfield.

Florida State Seminoles Predictions
The Seminoles’ return to the top of the ACC starts now, with a rebuilt defense and an offense that was better than their record made them out to be last year.

Nebraska Cornhuskers Predictions
The Big 12 North will be tougher this season, but the Cornhuskers have a plethora of seniors in their lineup to help them pile up wins.

Oklahoma Sooners Predictions
The Sooners won’t have to scramble to find a starting quarterback during the offseason, so their offense should get off to a faster start even without Adrian Peterson. The defense should be one of the best in the Big 12, allowing the Sooners a chance to win every week.

Texas Longhorns Predictions
Colt McCoy had a fine freshman campaign and he should be even better this season with a year of experience under his belt. With big man Limas Sweed leading the receiving corps and Jamaal Charles’ power running out of the backfield, the Longhorns’ offense should be lethal.

Texas A&M Aggies Predictions
The Schedule for the Aggies is killer, but the Stephen McGee led offense could also be lethal to their opponents.

2007 SEC Conference Football Predictions & Picks

Florida Gators Predictions
Don’t count the Gators out just because they lost a few pieces of their championship team. Tim Tebow takes over at QB and should be just as good – possibly better – than Chris Leak. Look for Percy Harvin to have a breakout year, while the defense will need to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Georgia Bulldogs Predictions
The Bulldogs really turned it on at the end of last season which bodes well for sophomore quarterback Matthew Stafford, but their defense will need some surprising performances to match last year’s strong armed crew.

Tennessee Volunteers Predictions
If Erik Ainge plays mistake free football the Volunteers will go far. If not – no dice.

Arkansas Razorbacks Predictions
The Razorbacks have a difficult road schedule this year, but the sky is the limit with Darren McFadden in the backfield.

Auburn Tigers Predictions
The Tigers have had a great three-year run in the SEC, and that should continue with QB Brandon Cox leading the offense.

LSU Tigers Predictions
The Tigers may have lost JaMarcus Russell to the NFL, but senior QB Matt Flynn is ready to take over the starting job and has a number of weapons around him that should allow him to ease into the job. With eight defensive starters returning, the Tigers’ D is one of the toughest in all of college football.

Michigan Wolverines Predictions
The Wolverines Offense remains loaded with QB chad Henne, RB Mike Hart, and WR Mario Manningham. The defense has a number of starters returning and will either lead the Wolverines to glory or take the blame for unfullfilled expectations.

Wisconsin Badgers Predictions
With 16 starters returning and some new talent filling in the holes, the Badgers may be even better than the team that went 12-1 last year. The schedule gets tougher with trips to Ohio State and Penn State on the slate, which will make or break their season

Ohio State Predictions
The Buckeyes’ offense lost alot of personnel to the NFL, but their defense is strong enough to keep them in games while their new offense gets sorted out. The quarterbacks fighting for Troy Smith’s old job, are a talented bunch, but one of them needs to step up and lead when the season begins

Penn State Predictions
Nittany Lions’ quarterback Anthony Morelli is ready to lead the Penn State offense back to respectability

2007 Wisconsin Badgers: Picks, Predictions & Odds

2007 Wisconsin Badgers Picks & Predictions
Wisconsin took advantage of a weak non conference schedule, seven home games and the fact they didn’t have to play Ohio State to win 12 games in new head coach Brett Bielema’s first season in charge of last year, including a victory over Arkansas in the Capital One Bowl. The stats, such as a fifth ranked defense and a TD ratio of 45/13, look very good, but they beat exactly one team that won a bowl game. This year Wisconsin returns 16 starters, though the losses include two year starting QB John Stocco, All-everything QT Joe Thomas and both starting safeties. The Badgers are lucky, though, to have a choice of two pretty good possible replacements for Stocco. And RB P.J. Hill, a 1500 yard rusher as a freshman, is back. Wisconsin has enough to make a run for the Big Ten title, but, as so often is the case, their entire season might well come down to how they fare against Michigan and Ohio State.

2007 West Virginia Mountaineers: Picks, Predictions & Odds

2007 West Virginia Mountaineers Picks & Predictions
The Mountaineers had to fen off a lucrative offer from Alabama to lure head coach Rich Rodriquez away. Fortunately for them, Rodriguez said “no thanks” to the Crimson Tide’s green. WV is 50-24 in six seasons under Rodriguez, 21-3 over the last two years. And this year, Rodriguez isn’t the only one coming back for another run. The Mountaineers return 16 starters from last season, eight on each side of the ball, including the very dangerous offensive threesome of QB Patrick White, RB Steve Slaton, and WR/KR Darius Reynaud. White and Slaton, both juniors, combined to rush for nearly 3,000 yards last season to help WV rank second in all of 1-A in rushing. WV lost a couple of good ones from the offensive line in Rimington Trophy winning center Dan Mozes and All Big East guard Jeremy Sheffey. And they’ll have to replace two thirds of their linebacking corps, and shore up the defesive backfield. But the Mountaineers are a Top 10 team, and a threat to run the table.

2007 Virginia Tech Hokies: Picks, Predictions & Odds

2007 Virginia Tech Hokies Picks & Predictions
Now in their 21st season under head coach Frank Beamer, the Hokies have become a consistent contender on the national stage. Last year, Tech had high hopes, which included a national championship run. But after winning their first four games, the Hokie lost back-to-back outings to Georgia Tech at home and at Boston College. Virginia Tech then rebounded to win its last six regular season games, but then collapsed in the second half of a loss to Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, a game the led 21-3 at the half. The offense, frankly, was a big disappointment last year, ranking 99th overall and 90th in rushing. But the defense led all of 1-a ball in total defense for the second straight season, and ranked 11th vs. the run. This season the Hokie return eight starters to each side of the ball, including the team’s leading passer, rusher, receiver, tackler, sacker and interceptor of a season ago.
