Overview: Trent Johnson did a great job last year, taking the Tigers to a 27-8 record. This year, he loses star guard Marcus Thornton (21.1ppg, 5.5rpg), and two other key starters (Garrett Temple and Chris Johnson). Thornton is a huge loss to the Tigers, which leaves junior Bo Spencer (6-1, 185) to carry the load. Spencer averaged 11.4ppg last season and will have to run the point and produce offensively. That’s asking a lot for the talented junior who had offseason surgery on his shooting wrist. The rest of the backcourt is a major question mark. Freshman Aaron Dotson (6-4, 180), sophomore Chris Bass (6-0, 180) and Chris Beattie will all have a chance to contribute in the backcourt. The Tigers are in better shape up front led by senior Tasmin Mitchell (6-7, 235), a smart player, who averaged 16.3ppg and 7.2rpg last season. Sophomore Storm Warren (6-7,220) is a talented player who plays hard and should really shine this season. They lack size up front, though 6-10 freshman Dennis Harris, who is just 195 pounds. Provides some length.

Outlook: LSU will take a major fall this year without three key starters. This is where coaching and recruiting come into place because expectations will be low this year.
