The Georgia Bulldogs with a 3-1 record (18) host the 4-0 LSU Tigers(4) in a key SEC tilt this Saturday afternoon. Les Miles side despite of a perfect record has not looked that impressive this season ( at least to me), and almost lost to Mississippi State last week by a 30-26 count. Meanwhile, the Dawgs after starting their season with a lack luster loss at Oklahoma State have won 3 straight, and look to be moving in the right direction because of a offense that is starting to finally click, now averaging 30.8 PPG. Last week Georgia took out a pretty good Arizona State squad by a 20-17 score, and are capable of an upset effort here in this spot. The bottom line: Georgia’s D, has been suspect this season, but LSU’s offense has been less than consistent , so being able to take advantage of the Dawgs, vulnerabilities are far from certain. When two respected fairly evenly matched conference programs go head to head, a closely contested affair that favors the team playing in front of its owns fans a viable bet at a FG or less. Coming back with the Twins here as I believe they are the more resilient team. After being shut down by power pitcher Verlander they managed 4 runs late and a run in the bottom of the ninth to fall 6-5. They fought back all game, and this is the type of team you want your money on in all situations at this time of year. They simply believe. This will be their biggest game of the year when they face Eddie Boninne on the other side.

Carl Pavano will make the start for the Twins and he’s made 5 starts vs. the Tigers. Tigers are 0-5 when they face Pavano this year. Pavano has a 1.70 ERA against them allowing 34 hits and only 1 BB in 37.1 IP. Also he has not given up a single HR, and the cold weather kept a lot of balls in the ball park last night expect the same to happen tonight. Tigers are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. RH starters at home. They were able to get a win in last night against the LHP Duesning who is inexperienced in moments like this much like MR. Bonine will be tonight.

Bonnine is a good control pitcher with an average fastball along with a knuckle and knuckle curve. He’s pitched well, but this spot light is just too large for him and I don’t think he’ll have the confidence as he has struggled vs. the Twins before. EArlier this year he lasted 2.2 IP giving up 7 hits, 2 walks and 2 ER. The damage could have been much worse. I think Pavano at -113 in this situation is a steal!

UNDER 10 Milwaukee/Colorado:
The Rockies are closing in on the Wild Card spot, leading the Braves now by 3 games as we hit the final days. Tonight, they’ll send Jason Hammel to the mound against Milwaukee’s Jeff Suppan.

Suppan (7-11, 5.04) is having a typical Suppan like season. Up and down, a lot of innings pitched, not a lot of strikeouts. He’s 1-3 with a 4.34 ERA in his last 5 starts. Expect him to keep it close tonight, and see if the Rockies can win late like they did on Tuesday.

Hawaii vs. Louisiana Tech
On Wednesday evening, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the Hawaii Warriors start their WAC conference games.
