One playoff spot is up for grabs as the AL Central Race just continues to get more interesting. Detroit now leads Minnesota by only 1 game in the division. Detroit will host the White Sox again tonight, Freddy Garcia vs. Alfredo Figaro, while Minnesota will host Kansas City this afternoon, it’ll be Zack Greinke vs. Nick Blackburn.

Over in the NL, the Rockies and Dodgers have both clinched playoff berths, but LA only leads Colorado by one game in the NL West. Tonight, they’ll play game 2 of the series with Jorge De La rosa opposing Clayton Kershaw. Good luck!

On Saturday the system club play is on Colorado.St. Game 163 at 10:30 eastern. The college system plays are 12-5 over the last 2 years and are 3-1 thus far this year. The Rams are 7-2 as road favorites in this range and today are the beneficiaries of a solid 84% system that plays against Idaho. What we want to do is play on certain road teams from -25 to +3 if they are taking on a home team that comes in off a road dog win in a game they were getting 10 or more points.
Idaho comes in off a big dog win at Northern Illinois. They have covered all 4 of their games this year. Winning 3 times as an underdog already this year. On Saturday however they are taking on a much improved Colorado.St team that is also 3-0 and coming off their first loss at Byu last week. Idaho is just 2-7 ats as dogs off a non conference game,1-7 in October and an over matched 3-21 vs winning teams. Lay the short number here.Over the past 2 Saturdays we are 10-3 in college plays. This Saturday I have a 5 unit play from a big 17-1 system that leads the card and goes in night action. I also have another big blowout system winner I think will win by 40 some odd points, as well as the the dog of the week, that may very well win the whole game outright again and a Huge Revenger of the week with an 85% system. Don’t miss any of these big Saturday plays as we continue where we left off the last 3 weeks. Take Colorado.St as the system club play. Good luck RV.

Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Illinois as they host Penn State set to start at 3:30 EST. AiS shows a 73% probability that Illinois will lose this game by 7 or fewer points and has a 46% probability of winning the game. PSU is obviously smarting from the humiliating loss last week at home to the hands of Iowa. They truly believed that they were a national contender and now they may not even be the Big-10 Champion. In fact, they could be out of the Big-10 race with a loss here today. Supporting this graded play is a system that has gone 66-31 for 68% winners since 2004 and has gone 43-18 over the past 3 seasons. Play on home dogs after having lost 2 out of their last 3 games and sporting a win percentage of 25% to 40% playing a team with a winning record. Illinois will be sharp on offense and one of the dominant reasons is that they have returned 8 starters and the QB from last year’s edition. The biggest factor in this game is that PSU will want to establish the run and probably will accomplish that task, but not extensively. AiS shows an 85% probability that PSU will rush for between 100 and 150 yards. Note that PSU is just 12-29 ATS when they rush for 100 to 150 yards since 1992. PSU offensive line has been horrid in all games – even against the inferior opponents and Iowa surely exposed it last week. The problems they have on the OL cannot be resolved in a week’s time. Illinois HC Zook is a strong 6-0 ATS (+6.0 Units) vs. incredible defensive teams who give up 12 or less points/game. Take Illinois.

John Ryan is on a 30-11 ATS run for 73% winners and here is your golden opportunity join him for his top rated titan play featuring the marquee Pac-10 game between USC + California. This play is further reinforced by 3 systems w/1 hitting an amazing 98% winners over the past 5 seasons and more.

Words cannot really describe how big that win was for Detroit last week against the Redskins. The victory snapped a 19-game losing streak and after the game head coach Jim Schwartz called it like a playoff atmosphere so I think we have a good idea what that entails for this week. While the Lions certainly do not want to start another losing streak, they will be hard-pressed to get up again, especially on the road. The Detroit victory actually helps us here as well. Not only do we get extra line value but the Bears will not be taking this team lightly. That should be emphasized especially after the Lions nearly knocked off the Bears last November at Soldier Field. And that was when the Lions were in the middle of their 19-game losing skid. I thought the Bears might be in for a slight letdown last week in Seattle but they responded pretty well in a tough environment. Heading home means a possible 3-1 record is on tap right before the break so any sort of letdown from that last minute victory over the Seahawks is moot. If not for a last minute drive by the Packers in the opener, Chicago could be undefeated right now but at the same time, the Bears are a couple of plays away from being 0-3 so while confidence is high, there is hardly an aura over overconfidence surrounding them. After looking awful against the Green Bay Packers in the season opener, Jay Cutler has stepped up and been a top quarterback against stingy Pittsburgh and Seattle defenses. The Lions are allowing 75 percent from opposing quarterbacks with 10 touchdowns and a league worst quarterback rating this season and Cutler has gone over 70 percent in his past two games so that sets up well. Detroit plans to do a lot of blitzing this Sunday but that actually may help out cause here. According to Stats Inc., Cutler is a blitz beater, as he is ranked 8th in passer rating throwing the ball in blitz passing situations His patience and poise in the face of a blitz and the ability to still make throws no matter how his body is positioned is significant. The Lions defensive line managed to disrupt the Redskins offense throughout the team’s win Sunday as the Redskins managed to score only 14 points, and much of that had to do with the two fumbles and two picks forced by the Lions defensive line. It is safe to say that the Bears offense, especially the offensive line, is better than that of Washington. Matthew Stafford is starting to settle in at quarterback for the Lions but he is hardly comfortable right now. He has a passer rating of 57.0 which is actually dead last in all of football for qualified quarterbacks. His rating has improved as each game has gone along, topping out with a decent 87.8 last week against the Redskins, but this will be another tough test and it come in his first start of the season that takes place outdoors. The Bears have provided a pretty good pass rush this season, but short passes could easily offset any pass rush they may generate against the Lions. The question is whether Stafford is comfortable yet to read those hot reads and I say no at this stage in his first season. The Vikings did a great job in bottling him up and Chicago is just as capable especially on their home field. There is one big situation that is favoring Chicago this weekend and it goes back to the bye week coming up as mentioned before. Play on favorites of 6.5 to 15 points that have a bye the following week. This simple yet solid situation is 24-6 ATS (80 percent) since 2002 with the average score differential being +19.7 ppg. 3* Chicago Bears
Matt Fargo had another Winning Sunday in the NFL and he is 7-5 ATS (58.3%) +19.1 Units in the NFL over the last two weeks! He has been taking names with his BIG GAME REPORTS for years and this season is no different! His latest 10* Winner with San Francisco on Sunday moved his 10* plays in the NFL this season to a PERFECT 3-0 ATS! We keep the FLAWLESS run going strong!

Though the Aggies let Southern Utah stay close for awhile, last Saturday’s 53-point assault shows the Aggies program is headed in the right direction. After scoring an average of just 20.6 and 24.0 PPG L/2 seasons, new Head Coach Gary Anderson has to be ecstatic over the fact that his offense has churned out an average of 33.3 PPG through three games played. Granted, last week’s game was against a much lesser important, but the offense churned out over 600 yards and pulled off a number of big gainers. Multi-talented RB Robert Turbin was sensational racking up 104 yards and a score on the ground and another 116 yards and 2 TDs the air. The defense still leaves a lot to be desired (35.7 PPG/486.3 YPG) and the team committed way too many penalties -80 yards), but the Aggies look to be on their way towards competing in the WAC this season.

BYU and its betting backers were gifted a home cover last week simply due Colorado State’s The Rams outgained the Cougars 438-373, but committed two costly turnovers and had a punt allowing BYU to build a 21-0 lead in the 1st quarter. Though CSU fought back the rest of the way, the 21-point hole they got themselves in early was just too much to overcome. QB Max Hall threw for 241 yards and 2 TDs on 18 of 29 throwing, but he tossed a pair of INT’s and has now thrown as many TD passes as interceptions on the year (8/8). He better start ironing out the kinks if the Cougars to win the Mt. West like many predicted they would at the beginning of the year.

BYU will probably enter tonight’s game thinking they can just name the score, but they will soon find out that the Aggies are there to avenge the 38-0 thrashing they absorbed two seasons ago in this venue. USU is 14-8 ATS (2-0 in ’09) the L/22 times it was installed an underdog, and has played to the over 5 of the L/7 times it was installed an underdog of 21.5 or more points. BYU’s just 1-5 ATS its L/6 vs. opponents with sub .500 records, and 2-5 ATS its L/7 the WAC.

OVER 9 Cleveland Indians/Boston Red Sox:
Both teams are wrapping up the season with completely different agendas. Boston is headed to the playoffs again and is trying to get their work in before the playoffs start. Cleveland has fired manager Eric Wedge and are looking to send him off with a few wins before they begin their search for his replacement.

Jeremy Sowers (6-10, 5.09) has struggled mightily of late, giving up 11 earned runs in his last 6 innings. He’s a former #1 draft pick who is running out of time as far as making an impact.

Daisuke Matsuzaka (3-6, 6.08) is probably only going to pitch 5 innings just to get ready for the playoffs. He’s bounced back ok since returning from injury and is looking to be Boston’s #3 man in October.

Important Note: ATS will release the College Grand Slam tomorrow, it’s Four 8 unit plays and a round robin parlay! Last year we went 4-0 for a 62 unit score! Call 1-800-772-1827 and enroll now!!

Free Prediction: Philadelphia Phillies -170
The Phillies still have a chance to earn home field advantage in the NL playoffs as they trail the struggling Dodgers by just 1 game for the best record in the NL. That means that Philly isn’t going to just sit back and relax, especially after a loss to Houston yesterday. The Phillies have the big edge on the mound tonight with Blanton and it also bodes well for them that Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez is not expected to be in the starting lineup tonight. Philly is 31-9 as a home favorite of -150 to -175 over the last 2 seasons and 15-4 with Blanton on the mound against a team with a winning record in the second half of the season over the last 2 seasons. Take the defending World Series champs. Courtesy of Jimmy Boyd

Free Prediction: Seattle Mariners -108
Injuries played a part in Texas not being able to challenge Boston for the A.L. Wild Card down the stretch. The Rangers clearly just want this season to be over with. They get a Mariners team that is playing every meaningless game down the stretch just as if it was mid-July. The M’s just swept Oakland at home and I expect them to continue their winning ways tonight behind Snell. The Mariners have won 5 of his last 8 starts and they are an impressive 16-5 in their last 21 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 21-8 in their last 29 games as a home favorite. Meanwhile, the Rangers have lost each of McCarthy’s last 3 starts and are just 2-10 in his last 12 starts as an underdog. Plus, they are only 1-6 in their last 7 games following a win. I’m on the M’s at home. Courtesy of Dave Price

Pittsburgh vs. Louisville Betting Odds, Trends & Winning Pick: October 2nd 2009

The Pittsburgh Panthers and Louisville Cardinals meet on the field this friday evening for a highly anticipated matchup. The Panthers have been victorious three of their first four games and are looking for their fifth 4-1 start in 10 years. As for Louisville, they have lost their last two games after starting this season with a 30-10 victory over Indiana State. The Cardinals lead the series with Pittsburgh by a 7-5 record and they haven’t lost a home game to Pitt since 1983. The Panthers beat the Cardinals by a score of 41-7, last season to end a 7 game losing streak in the series.

Pittsburgh is currently set as a 6.5 point favorites against Louisville with the games over/under odds posted at 53.5 total points. Need the winning pick for this game? Visit Touthouse.com

Panthers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games on grass.
Panthers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in October.
Cardinals are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game.

BYU is going to get its points with stars Max Hall, Harvey Unga, and Dennis Pitta leading the way, but the Aggies are improved and I believe they have the ability to light up the scoreboard tonight as well with their new spread attack, led by talented QB Diondre Borel. BYU has played to the over in 3 straight and the Aggies have played to the over in each of their 2 lines games this season. The Over is 3-0-1 in the Aggies last 4 games as a road underdog of 10.5 or greater and 4-0 in the Cougars last 4 games as a favorite. Take the Over for 1 Unit.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds u9.0 (-105 odds)

The Cincinnati Reds have enjoyed playing the spoiler role lately, but they will have a hard time getting motivated for the last-place Pittsburgh Pirates in this season-ending series, so do not expect much scoring tonight from a couple of teams that just want to go home now.

The Pirates did just take two out of three from the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, but they are still averaging just 3.49 runs per game on the road this season while batting a poor .234 as a team. As for the Reds, even with their recent hot streak, they are still hitting just .246 at home vs. right-handed pitching.

Young Daniel McCutchen had not pitched badly in his five starts for the Pirates, allowing three runs or less three times and exactly four earned runs in each of the other two starts. McCutchen made his Major League debut vs. these Reds on August 31, and he promptly recorded a Quality Start, allowing three runs on five hits with five strikeouts in six innings.

Now Justin Lehr has been erratic for Ciccinnati, but he had his moments, such as allowing three runs or less in his first four starts in a Reds uniform. He has not been pitching that well lately, but he could easily regain his good form tonight vs. a Pittsburgh lineup that closely resembles a AAA team.

Factor in that these teams want to get this game and this series over and done with as soon as possible and the Under becomes an even stronger play.

MLB Free Pick: Pirates, Reds 9 (-105)
