The Middies have one of the premier mid-major teams in America year in and year out, and this season will be no exception. Navy can once again get to double digits in wins if QB Ricky Dobbs takes good care of the football in the triple option. Dobbs rushed for 1,203 yards and 27 TDs last season to go with his 1,031 passing yards. The Naval Academy also had a solid defense, averaging allowing just 19.4 points per game last season. The schedule sets up remotely well in spite of the fact that there are six road games in 2010. A 5-0 start isn’t out of the question if the team can survive a trip to Air Force on October 2nd. Navy might have a relatively clear path at that point, as home games against SMU and Duke and a roadie at East Carolina could be the only thing separating it and an undefeated campaign.
