Chicago Bears @ Carolina Panthers (+2.5) – The Bears are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Giants in which Jay Cutler was sacked nine times and injured in the first half. QB Jimmy Clausen looks to improve on a pretty decent game against the Saints.
Denver Broncos @ Baltimore Ravens (-7) – Both these teams won unexpected road games last week. Look for this to be a defensive minded football game.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Buffalo Bills (PK) – Jacksonville enters Week 5 after completing the biggest upset of the year, beating Indianapolis 31-28 on a last second 59-yard field goal by Josh Scobee. Buffalo is 0-4 after getting blown out by the Jets 38-14 at home. A good name for this game is the garbage bowl.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Indianapolis Colts (-8) – The Chiefs are coming off a bye week in Week 4 and will play a 2-2 Colts team that is reeling after a stunning Week 4 loss to the Jaguars.
St. Louis Rams @ Detroit Lions (-3) – It appears rookie QB Sam Bradford and Co. have finally figured it out, while the Lions are still in search of their first win. Oddsmakers expect them to get it this week.
Atlanta Falcons @ Cleveland Browns (+3) – Atlanta is 3-1 on the young season and appears to be one of the favorites in the NFC after escaping Week 4 with a 16-14 last second win over the Niners. Cleveland finally tallied its first win last week, but will come back down to reality in Week 5.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5) – Tampa Bay is coming off a bye week after starting out 2-1 on the young season. Terrell Owens finally got on track with a huge Week 4 performance where he hauled in 10 catches for a monster 222 yards and one touchdown for the Bengals.
Green Bay Packers @ Washington Redskins (+2.5) – Green Bay might be 3-1 and tied for first, but they need to get it together quick after playing sloppy in their Week 4 home win against a winless Detroit squad. Donovan McNabb had a successful homecoming, defeating the Eagles 17-6 last week.
New York Giants @ Houston Texans (-3) – The Giants beat the Bears 17-3 on Sunday Night while recording an NFL record nine sacks in the first half. Houston got back on track in Week 4 with a 31-24 win in the “Black Hole” against the Raiders.
New Orleans Saints @ Arizona Cardinals (+6.5) – New Orleans has not looked like a reigning Super Bowl Championship team thus far, but look for them to get on track this week against a weak Arizona Cardinals team that was blown out in San Diego in Week 4.
San Diego Chargers @ Oakland Raiders (+6) – This AFC West battle should feature lots of offense. San Diego is coming off a throttling of the Cardinals while the Raiders hope to bounce back from a gritty 31-24 defeat to the Houston Texans.
Tennessee Titans @ Dallas Cowboys (-6.5) – Chris Johnson had another off week in Week 4 and he could struggle again this week against the Cowboys 8th ranked rushing defense. Dallas hopes the off week helped them get things together after a poor 1-2 start.
Philadelphia Eagles @ San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) – Philadelphia could be Kevin Kolb’s team once again after Michael Vick injured his ribs in the Eagles Week 4 loss to the NFC East rival Washington Redskins and former teammate Donovan McNabb. Unfortunately, Mike Singletary could be on the hot-seat if the 49ers don’t start winning soon.
Minnesota Vikings @ New York Jets (-4) – Vikings fans are hoping the ‘bye’ was good for Brett Favre, if not his career could be over sooner rather than later. The Jets are hot and QB Mark Sanchez is confident he can outshine Brett Favre on the MNF national stage.
