A berth in the NCAA Tournament final will be on the line at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday night when the winners of the Midwest Bracket, the #5 Michigan State Spartans (28-8, 15-20 ATS) and the winners of the West Bracket, the #5 Butler Bulldogs (32-4, 16-20 ATS) engage in a college basketball wagering war. The winner of this national semifinal awaits the winner of the Duke/West Virginia game to follow it.

Michigan State’s 70-69 win over Tennessee in the Elite 8 was truly an impressive performance. The two stars that really need to step up for HC Tom Izzo both responded, as F Raymar Morgan and G Durrell Summers were both fantastic. Morgan recorded a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds, while Summers shot a blistering 8/10 from the floor and 4/6 from beyond the arc to score a total of 21 points, easily a game high. Summers is now averaging 20.0 points per game in this tournament, and he’s going to be the key scorer without G Kalin Lucas on the floor.

The Bulldogs may lull you to sleep with their defense, but the truth of the matter is that they know how to put the ball in the basket as well. F Gordon Hayward may have turned the ball over five times against Kansas State last weekend, but he scored 22 points and hauled in nine boards to lead the way for the team with the longest winning streak in the country at 24 games. G Shelvin Mack, who many think is a good dark horse pick for MVP honors in the Final Four, scored 16 points and added seven rebounds and three assists in the 63-56 win.

Butler may only be 1-4 ATS in its L/5 games as a favorite, but it does hold a fantastic 43-21-1 ATS mark in its L/65 NCAA basketball betting battles against non-Horizon League schools. The Bulldogs are also 5-1-1 ATS in their L/7 clashes with the Big Ten and are 7-3 ATS in their L/10 NCAA Tournament games. Michigan State’s figures are just as impressive though, as it is 25-10-1 ATS in its L/36 tourney affairs, and is 9-4 ATS in its L/13 tries against Horizon League foes.

West Virginia vs. Duke Betting Preview & Prediction: April 3rd 2010 Final Four Picks

WEST VIRGINIA VS. DUKE PREDICTIONWest Virginia Mountaineers vs. Duke Blue Devils
Prediction: Click here for expert college basketball picks | Bet: Click here to bet on this game | Odds: Click here for current odds

Two conference winners that are on long winning streaks will crack skulls in a Final Four betting battle on Saturday night when the Big East champs, the #2 West Virginia Mountaineers (31-6, 17-19 ATS) face the ACC champs, the #1 Duke Blue Devils (33-5, 22-13-2 ATS). West Virginia has captured ten straight games SU, going 6-4 ATS in that run. The Dookies are 8-0 SU in their L/8 overall, and 5-3 ATS in that stretch. Both teams are a perfect 4-0 ATS in the NCAA Tournament, the only teams that can say that in the field of 65.

Regardless of whether the Mountaineers have G Darryl Bryant in the lineup or not this weekend, they’re still going to be a force to be reckoned with thanks to their three forwards. Da’Sean Butler, Devin Ebanks, and Kevin Jones combined for 43 points and 21 rebounds, which is right about at their season averages, against #1 Kentucky in the Elite 8. Those three will once again need to come up big against a Duke front line that isn’t as strong as it has been in years past. If G Joe Mazzulla can drop 17 points on the Blue Devils like he did on the Wildcats, it would just be like icing on the cake.

Coach K had a lot to be happy about with his team’s triumph over Baylor last Sunday. G Nolan Smith scored 29 points on 9/17 shooting, and G Jon Scheyer’s slump officially appears to be over after he scored 20 against the Bears. However, he can’t be happy that his team needed to get some questionable calls go its way to win. F Kyle Singler was another bone of contention, as he shot 0/10 from the field for his first game in his career with a bagel in the field goals made column.

The Blue Devils are just 1-5-1 ATS in their L/7 NCAA basketball betting clashes against the Big East, including a loss to these Mountaineers in the 2008 March Madness. The ‘Neers are 5-2 ATS in their L/7 games as an underdog, including that outright win against Kentucky. They’re also 12-2-1 ATS in their L/15 tourney ties.

Free NBA Pick: Toronto Raptors -9.5 (Dave Price)
The Clippers have packed it in. They have really limited the minutes of All-Star Chris Kaman and Baron Davis is expected to be out Wednesday. LA has dropped 12 of its last 14 games with 10 of those losses coming by at least 10 points. With Chicago dropping a tough one at home to the Bulls last night, the Raptors have a chance to distance themselves from their closest contender for the 8th and final playoff spot in the East with a win here. The Raptors have owned the Clippers, winning 3 in a row by an average of 20.3 points. The Clippers are 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings and only 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Toronto. Lay the points.

Free NBA Pick: Lakers vs. Hawks Under 196 (Rob Vinciletti)
On Wednesday the free play is on the Under in the La.Lakers at Atlanta Hawks game. Rotation numbers 506/7 at 7:05 eastern. The system above is the key to the play. This under system has cashed 11 of 14 times since 1995. The Lakers have played under in 9 of 10 games this year as an underdog and 12 of 17 times in the second half vs winning teams. Both games here the last 2 years have played under and this one should stay under the number as well. On Wednesday we have another Huge 96% Cutting edge NBA System Dominator. We cashed our 4th straight night in the NBA as Ok.City took apart the Sixers. Tonight we do it again,in another game that should not be close. Jump on and cash out. For the free play take the under in the Lakers at Hawks game. RV

Free NBA Pick: Dallas Mavericks -2 (Tom Freese)
Memphis is led in scoring by Zack Randolph and his 20.9 points and 11.8 rebounds a game. Forward Rudy Gay scores 19.8 points a game. Guard O.J. Mayo scores 17.7 points a game. Center Marc Gasol scores 14.8 points and 9.4 rebounds a game. Guard Mike Conley scores 11.2 points a game. The Grizzlies score 102.8 points a game and they allow 103.3 points a game. Memphis is 1-6-1 ATS their last 8 home games and they are 5-11 ATS their last games vs. Western Conference teams. Dallas is led in scoring by Dirk Nowitzki and his 24.7 points a game. Guard Jason Terry scores 16.8 points a game. Caron Butler scores 15.6 points a game. Forward Shawn Marion scores 12.2 points a game. Point guard Jason Kidd scores 10.1 points a game and 9.2 assists a game. The Mavericks score 101.7 points a game and they allow 99.6 points a game. Dallas is 4-1 ATS their last 5 games as road favorites and they are 9-4 ATS their last 13 games vs. the Grizzlies. PLAY ON DALLAS -

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Toronto Raptors

Rule number one when handicapping sports is don’t lay points with a bad team. Rule number two is don’t lay double digits with a team that’s just happy with a victory. We have both those situations tonight in Canada as the struggling Raptors look to win big against the always struggling Clippers. Toronto is off two huge games in their attempt to hold on to the last playoff seed in the east. The Raptors gained a split against Miami and Charlotte but have still dropped 13 of their last 17 games. By the way, none of those four victories was by more than today’s spread as they were only able to win one game by more than six points and that was against the league worst Nets.

The Clippers are not a good basketball team but they are not 10 points worse that the Raptors. Toronto only has nine more victories than LA and they have done so playing in the weaker Eastern Conference. After winning at Houston Los Angeles has dropped two straight in blowout fashion against Golden State and Milwaukee. They will be without Baron Davis tonight but that may actually be a good thing. Davis plays out of control most of the time taking ill advised shots. The Clippers are more of a team with him on the sidelines.

Toronto has dropped three straight games at home and are on a 1-8 spread run north of the border. Off the huge win over Charlotte with winnable games against Golden State and Philadelphia on deck we can see the Raptors taking this team for granted.

NBA Betting: New York Knicks vs. Portland Trailblazers Odds & Pick: March 31st 2010

New York Knicks vs. Portland Trailblazers
Free NBA Pick: New York +10 -110 odds
Visit Touthouse.com for more NBA picks from Tom Stryker

I try not to make a habit out of investing my hard earned money on bad teams and New York certainly qualifies. The Knicks are 21 games under the .500-mark and their season is essentially. But, as you saw at Utah, the Boys from the Big Apple are still going to compete and they’re worth a look plus the points this evening.

It is noted that the Knicks (+3) upset Portland inside Madison Square Garden in their last meeting back on December 7th. Fortunately, this is one the Trailblazers worst spots. At home in non-conference action battling an opponent that checks in without momentum off a straight up loss, Portland has struggled posting a weak 47-68 ATS record. In this role battling a foe that arrives off two or more straight up losses including a blemish by at least five points or more last, the Blazers slip to a stiff 18-40 ATS!

One think New York has done very well is remain competitive in big dog situations. The Knicks are a solid 35-16 ATS priced as a double-digit dog including a strong 17-4 ATS in their last 21 matched up against a Western Conference foe.

Portland is playing well and the Trailblazers will get their revenge this evening. However, the Knicks are game for this rematch and they won’t go down without a fight. This contest is going down to the wire. Take New York. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.

NBA Betting: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies Odds & Pick: March 31st 2010

Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Free NBA Pick: Dallas -2 -110 odds
Visit Touthouse.com for more NBA basketball betting picks from Matt Fargo

Dallas is coming off a huge home win over Denver on Monday but it cannot let up here. The 16-point win by the Mavericks revenged an earlier 36-point loss at Denver back in February but they are not in position to start feeling too good about themselves. They are currently in second place in the Western Conference but are ahead of Utah by just a half-game and Denver by just a game so every game counts and these are ones that they cannot take for granted. With a game at home against Orlando tomorrow night, there is the thought of a possible lookahead but there are several factors that go against that. One being the playoff seeding but another is the lack of success Dallas has had in Memphis in recent trips. The Mavericks have lost three straight meetings in Memphis including the one game played there this season as they shot 35.2 percent from the floor, the second lowest shooting percentage this season. Dallas did bounce back with a home win over the Grizzlies later that month and Dallas has an even bigger edge this time around. This will be the first meeting since Dallas acquired Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood from Washington and since that trade, it is 17-5 in the 22 games with the new lineup. The Mavericks recently went though a 2-4 spurt as the offense hit an inconsistent patch but that offense looks to be back in good form, scoring 109 and 111 points the last two games. That trend should continue as the Mavericks face another poor defensive team as Memphis is allowing 103.3 ppg on the season, eighth worse in the league. The Grizzlies have allowed 107 ppg over their last five games and 106.1 ppg over their last 10 games. Memphis is 22-15 at home this season but that is a skewed record of late especially. It has not defeated a playoff bound team at home since defeating the Lakers way back on February 1st. The Grizzlies are 0-8 since then, going 1-7 ATS as well. Dallas is 12-8 ATS this season on the road against teams with a winning record while the Grizzlies are 10-13 ATS at home against teams with a winning record. Also, Memphis is 0-8 ATS in its last eight games coming off two or more straight road losses. 3* Dallas Mavericks

Free Pick: Dayton -1 (John Ryan)
3* graded play on Dayton as they take on Mississippi in the NIT semifinals set to start at 7:00 EST. Our proprietary sports handicapping model and simulator shows a high probability that Dayton will win this game by more than 3 points. Dayton has done well in past games when facing a strong shooting team. Mississippi has shot 45.4% for the season and dayton is a solid 19-10 ATS (+8.0 Units) versus good shooting teams making >=45% of their shots over the last 2 seasons. Dayton HC Gregory is 15-4 ATS (+10.6 Units) after playing 2 consecutive road games. Dayton is a near perfect 8-1 ATS (+6.9 Units) after playing 2 consecutive road games over the last 3 seasons. Meanwhile, Mississippi HC Kennedy is a poor 4-12 ATS (-9.2 Units) in road games in all tournament games. Take Dayton.

Free Pick: Missouri State -5.5 (Rob Vinciletti)
On Tuesday night the free play is on Missouri St. Game 766 at 8:00 eastern. Missouri St is a solid 18-2 at home this year, 13-1 vs non conference teams,10-1 and 7-3 ats as a home favorite from 3.5 to -6 over the last 3+ years and has won and covered every time with 5 or 6 days of rest. Pacific has taken a tough road to get here winning 3 straight post season road games. The last 2 as an underdog. They qualify in a negative system that is based on their back to back dog wins. Look for Missouri State to send Pacific home tonight with a win and cover. On Tuesday night I have a 5* NBA system that has cashed 100% of the time and wins by an average 108-90 score. We cashed big for a 3rd straight night in the NBA as Dallas delivered a nice blowout win on Monday. In NIT action we have a BIg 15-1 Power Play angle. Jump on and make some nice change here tonight. For the free play take Missouri St. RV

Free NBA Pick: Oklahoma City vs. Philadelphia Under 195 (Dave Price)
This matchup has been an Unders machine as 7 of the last 9 overall have played to the Under and 5 of the last 6 in Philadelphia have found their way Under. Following a defeat, it has been very common for the Thunder to tighten the screws defensively in their next game. As a result, the Under is 6-1-1 in the Thunder’s last 8 games following a S.U. loss. Philly is also 9-1 Under in home games after playing 3 consecutive games as an underdog over the last 2 seasons, and we are only seeing 183.2 points scored on average in these spots. Bet the Under.

Free NBA Pick: Oklahoma City -6 (Tom Freese)
Philadelphia is led in scoring by guard Andre Iguodala and his 17.1 points a game. Point guard Lou Williams scores 14.4 points a game. Forward Thaddeus Young scores 13.8 points a game. Forward Elton Brand scores 13.5 points a game. The Sixers score 97.1 points a game and they allow 100.6 points a game. Philadelphia is 10-25 ATS their last 35 home games and they are 1-7 ATS off an ATS win. Oklahoma City is led in scoring by forward Kevin Durant and his 29.6 points a game. Point guard Russell Westbrook scores 16.2 points and 7.9 assists a game. Forward Jeff Green scores 14.9 points a game. Guard James Harden scores 10 points a game. The Thunder score 100.1 points a game and they allow 96.6 points a game. Oklahoma City is 44-19 ATS off a straight up loss and they are 38-16 ATS off an ATS loss. PLAY ON OKLAHOMA CITY -

North Carolina vs. Rhode Island Odds & Pick: March 30th 2010

North Carolina vs. Rhode Island
Free Pick: North Carolina +1 -110 odds
Visit Touthouse.com for more NCAA basketball picks from Matt Fargo

At the start of the NIT, the big question was how North Carolina was going to react after such a disappointing season. Those questions have been answered. Expectations were high to start the season and an 11-3 start pointed toward the Tar Heels at least making it back to the NCAA Tournament to defend their National Championship from a season ago. A horrendous ACC season however pushed the Tar Heels out of the big dance and into the NIT but they have stepped up and are playing some great basketball right now. Especially on defense as North Carolina has held all three NIT opponents to less than 42 percent shooting. In the past seven games, North Carolina is holding its opponents to a 37.6 field goal percentage on 160-of-425 shooting. Six of those seven games has seen the opposition shoot below its season average. In comparison, in its previous 28 outings, it held its opponents to 41.9 percent shooting so it has been a big improvement. North Carolina’s three counterparts in New York this week all shoot 44.6 percent or better from the field, so continued growth defensively is essential. Improved play from point guard Larry Drew while seniors Deon Thompson and Marcus Ginyard have been playing with a sense of urgency. “We understand this was not the year we wanted to have, that we ever would have dreamed of having,” Ginyard says. “But it got to the point as a team that we had to make the best of the situation. It’s been a joy for us to continue to play. We’re still excited to play, and we’ve been showing that enthusiasm on the court.” He thinks good will come from the Tar Heels’ hard fall. Rhode Island has also been playing very well after another weak finish to the regular season. The Rams defeated Northwestern and Nevada at home before pulling off the upset at Virginia Tech to make it to New York. The defense remains a big issue as Rhode Island allows opponents to shoot 46.9 percent from the floor and that is bad news against a North Carolina team that has finally found some offense. The Rams play a similar style and it will be up to the Tar Heels to continue the defensive improvement. Rhode Island is just 2-9 ATS in its 11 games following an ATS win this season while North Carolina is on a 9-0 ATS run in tournament games the last two seasons away from home. 3* North Carolina Tar Heels

Los Angeles Lakers vs. New Orleans Hornets Odds & Pick: March 29th 2010

Los Angeles Lakers vs. New Orleans Hornets
Free NBA Pick: Lakers -6 -110 odds
Visit Touthouse.com for more NBA basketball picks from John Ryan

3* graded play on the Lakers as they take on New Orleans set to start at 8:00 EST. Our proprietary sports handicapping model and simulator shows a high probability that the Lakers will win this game by more than 8 points. New Orleans has lost 5 of 6 by double digits and now face a Lakers squad looking to wrap up home court advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs. Supporting this graded play is a system that has produced a record of 50-15 ATS for 77% ATS winners since 2004. Play on road favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points after a road game where both teams score 100 or more points, and with the game taking place in the second half of the season. Model also projects that the Lakers will hit between 48 and 51%. In past games shooting within this range they are 28-13 ATS over the last 2 seasons. Lakers have done very well against teams they know they should defeat easily. They are 23-8 ATS (+14.2 Units) in road games when playing against a team with a losing record in the 2nd half of the season over the last 3 seasons. Take the Lakers.
