Minnesota Twins vs. Seattle Mariners Odds & Pick: May 31st 2010

Minnesota Twins vs. Seattle Mariners
Free Pick: Minnesota Twins -114 odds
Visit Touthouse.com for more MLB baseball betting picks from Ted Sevransky

Minnesota enters tonight’s game on a nice roll, winners of four straight. That stands in sharp contrast to the Mariners, who have lost on walk-off home runs in the ninth and tenth inning of their last two ballgames, a pair of crushing defeats. Seattle has now lost seven times when leading after six innings after blowing a five run lead last night, a demoralized ballclub. Outfielder Milton Bradley: “It’s happened quite often to us, so it’s not anything new. To happen on back-to-back days like this, it’s just deja vu.”

The Twins bring Francisco Liriano to the hill tonight, taking a big step down in class after facing the Yankees or Red Sox in each of his last three starts. Liriano has dominated this lineup throughout the course of his career, with a 3.00 ERA and a .203 batting average against vs. Seattle. The light hitting Mariners have notched only six wins in 16 previous tries against southpaw starters this year, and they managed only three hits against Liriano on his last trip to Safeco Field.

Seattle’s Doug Fister has been a very pleasant surprise for manager Don Wakamatsu, entering the game as the AL ERA leader. Despite that track record, the Mariners are just 2-4 in Fister’s last six starts. And Fister’s inability to miss bats (only 26 strikeouts in 62 innings this year) portends trouble for him as the season progresses. When we add the Mariners consistent bullpen woes to the equation, the case for the Twins is quite clear. 2* Take Minnesota.

5 Baseball Predictions You May Want to Wager Memorial Day: May 31st 2010

Below are free MLB betting picks and baseball predictions for May 31st 2010 from Touthouse.com handicappers. If you are looking for free MLB baseball picks on a daily basis or premium picks from our MLB baseball betting experts visit Touthouse.com each day.

Prediction: Washington Nationals +174 (Info Plays)
System Play. We’ll Play Against – Any team (HOUSTON) – poor hitting team (AVG <=.250) against an average starting pitcher (ERA=4.20 to 5.20) -NL, with a starting pitcher whose WHIP is 1.050 or better on the season-NL. This is a 38-15 ML System hitting 71.7% since 1997. A team that is hitting .224 and putting up just 2.9 RPG against right-handed starters this season should not be such a monster favorite Monday. That’s the case with Houston. The Astros do throw Roy Oswalt and despite his great numbers, Oswalt sports just a 3-6 record this season because he is getting little to no run support. Washington starts Luis Atilano, who has had his best stuff on the road this season. Atilano has gone 3-0 with a 2.91 ERA in four road outings. We’ll take the value. Bet the Nationals on the road.

Prediction: Colorado Rockies +101 (Jeff Alexander)
Lincecum has some kinks to work out as he’s given up 11 earned runs in his last 2 starts. Meanwhile, Jimenez has asserted himself as the best pitcher in baseball this season, and he will certainly be out to prove it against the two-time reigning NL Cy Young winner. Jimenez is 9-1 on the season with a 0.88 ERA, and his ERA tightens up to just 0.62 on the road. Considering how shaky Lincecum has been lately, the value lies with Jimenez in the underdog role here. Take the Rockies.

Prediction: St. Louis Cardinals -153 (Dave Price)
I really like the Cards’ chances today with Garcia on the mound at home when you consider he has not allowed even one earned run in 3 home starts this season. Plus, the Reds have dropped 10 of their last 13 road games when facing a lefty starter. And while Arroyo has been pretty good this season, the Reds have lost 5 of his last 6 road starts against the Cardinals. This is a series the Cards want badly so they can regain the top spot in the division. Look for them to start it off with a win at home.

Prediction: Minnesota Twins -112 (Jimmy Boyd)
Liriano has a solid 3.17 ERA on the season, and that number would be even if he didn’t have to face the Yankees twice and the Red Sox once in his last 3 starts. The Twins won his first 5 starts before dropping his next 4, but I think this is an excellent place for him to get back in the win column. The M’s are only hitting .255 and scoring 3.8 runs per game against southpaw starters this season. In fact, the Mariners are just 3-8 in their last 11 games vs. a left-handed starter. The Twins have been crushing righty starters, hitting .272 and scoring 5.1 runs per game. Fister is not a strikeout pitcher and that puts him at a disadvantage against a very good Twins lineup that figures to put the ball in play all night long. The Twins enter having won 4 straight and they won their last 6 versus the AL West. Plus, they are 7-2 in their last 9 games as a road favorite and 41-18 in their last 59 games as a favorite overall. Take the Twins.

Prediction: Tampa Bay Rays -135 (Rob Vinciletti)
On Memorial day Monday the Free MLB Play is on the Tamp Bay Rays. Game 923 at 7;10 eastern. The Rays have better numbers this season than Toronto. Tampa Bay is 19-5 on the road, averaging 6 runs per game and have an excellent 2.45 road bullpen ERA. The Blue Jays have not hit in division play. They are hitting a paltry .227. In the pitching match up Tampa has M. Garza going tonight. Garza has a 2.04 road era and a 2.17 career 2.17 era vs the Jays. Toronto counters with Morrow tonight. Morrow has a 4.70 home era and has been lit up of late with a 6.60 era. He has lost both starts he has made vs Tampa Bay as well. Look for Tampa to get game 1 tonight. On Memorial Day Monday I have 2 Big 5* MLB plays. We are currently on a 5-0 run and 21-8 in MLB. Today we have a 5* 100% MLB System Dominator and a 5* MLB Totals system with a system that averages over 13 runs per game. Jump on these 2 Big money Makers and start the week off right. Both game go later in the day or evening. For the Free play take Tampa Bay. RV

Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Odds & Pick: May 31st 2010

Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Free Pick: Chicago Cubs -131 odds
Visit Touthouse.com for more expert MLB picks from Bill Young

Shockingly, the Cubs have lost 5 of 6 games vs. Pittsburgh this season. That’s why the Pirates have the Cubs’ attention and Chicago will not go lay an egg in Pittsburgh in this series. Instead, we fully expect the Cubs to win this series starting with Game 1 tonight. Randy Wells is coming off the worst start of his career, and a bad start against Pittsburgh the last time he faced them, so he’ll be highly motivated to piece together a dominant outing. The Pirates are 12-25 against righty starters this season, hitting .230 and scoring 3.1 runs/game. Pittsburgh has lost 5 straight games, getting outscored 10-30 in the process. Wells is 2-1 with a 3.68 ERA on the road this season, while Pirates’ starter Ross Ohlendorf is 0-2 with a 6.39 ERA and 1.894 WHIP in three home starts this year. The Cubs are 4-1 in their last 5 games following a loss. The Pirates are 0-6 in Ohlendorf’s last 6 starts vs. National League Central foes. Chicago is 7-1 in Wells’ last 8 starts when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game. Take the Cubs on the Money Line.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds Odds & Pick: May 31st 2010

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds
Free Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -145 odds
Visit Touthouse.com for more MLB baseball picks from Jack Jones

After losing a series in Cincinnati earlier this month, the Cardinals are primed to get payback starting with Game 1 Monday. St. Louis sits 1 game behind Cincinnati in the NL Central and will be looking to pull back to even with the Reds tonight. They give the ball to Jamie Garcia, who has been their best starter all year even with Wainwright and Carpenter going strong. Garcia is 4-2 with a 1.14 ERA and 1.139 WHIP this season. He has been virtually un-hittable at home, allowing no earned runs in 19 innings for a 0.00 ERA and 0.895 WHIP in 3 home outings.

Reds’ starter Bronson Arroyo has posted a 4.73 ERA on the road this season. The Reds are 6-15 in Arroyo’s last 21 starts vs. a team with a winning record, including 2-6 in his last 8 road starts vs. winning teams. The Reds are 3-10 in their last 13 road games vs. a left-handed starter. Cincinnati is 1-5 in their last 6 games as a road underdog of +110 to +150 as well. For whatever reason, the Cardinals tend to get off to a great start each week. St. Louis is 12-0 in their last 12 Monday games. The Cardinals are also 36-15 in their last 51 during game 1 of a series. The Cards are 37-15 in their last 52 home meetings with Cincinnati, and 5-1 in their last home games vs. Bronson Arroyo. They’ll get the win today in a very motivated effort against Cincinnati. Take the Cardinals.

8 Baseball Betting Predictions Worth Taking a Look At for May 30th 2010

Below are free MLB picks and baseball betting predictions for May 30th 2010 from Touthouse.com handicappers. If you are looking for free MLB baseball picks on a daily basis or premium picks from our MLB baseball betting experts visit Touthouse.com each day.

Free Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (Big Al McMordie)
At 1:40 pm, our complimentary selection is on the Tampa Bay Rays over Chicago. The Rays have emerged as perhaps the best team in Major League Baseball this season and have already put together win streaks of 7, 6, and 5 games (twice). Not surprisingly, the Rays are a solid 24-10 this year off a win, so that bodes well as Tampa bested Chicago on Saturday. Today, they’ll go up against veteran Jake Peavy, who has looked NOTHING like his former self this season. Peavy brings a 7.08 ERA over his last three starts into Tropicana Field (and his ERA for the season isn’t much better at 6.05). James Shields will get the ball for the Rays, and he’s been superb in 2010, with a 2.99 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP in 10 starts. Peavy has struggled mightily in his career vs. Tampa Bay, with a 5.56 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP, and we’ll look for the Rays to triumph over Chicago and Peavy in this Sunday afternoon contest. Lay the price with Tampa Bay. Good luck, as always…Big Al McMordie.

Free Pick: Pirates vs. Braves Under 9 (Ben Burns)
After Friday’s opener finished with 10 runs, yesterday’s game finished with nine, landing right on the number. I feel that this afternoon’s finale has a good shot at being the lowest-scoring of the bunch. Kawakaimi is an awful 0-7 on the season. However, he’s been better than that record indicates recently, as he has a very solid 3.31 ERA and 1.225 WHIP his last three starts. Over that stretch, he has 14 K’s to just three walks. In his last home start, he tossed six shutout innings. He should be happy to see a Pittsburgh team which ranks near the bottom of the league offensively. Maholm has been very sharp lately. In his last three starts, he has a stellar 2.70 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. All three of those games stayed below the total, finishing with scores of 2-1, 4-3 and 4-3. Maholm has made four career starts vs. Atlanta. He has an outstanding 1.33 ERA in those games, all of which stayed below the total. Those games averaged a mere 4.5 combined runs, finishing with scores of 3-1, 3-0, 5-1 and 3-2. Consider the Under

Free Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks +105 (Steve Merril)
Ian Kennedy has been one of the best pitchers for the Diamondbacks this season. Kennedy is in good current form as he is 1-1 with a 3.26 ERA over his last three starts. He takes the mound on Sunday as Arizona wraps up a series with San Francisco. Kennedy defeated the Giants in Arizona ten days ago as he gave up just one run and three hits in eight innings of work. In that game, he struck out nine and walked only three with Giants hitters going 5 for 29 against Kennedy. San Francisco’s Todd Wellemeyer was on the other end of Kennedy’s win in Arizona. He gave up five runs and four hits in five innings of work in that game. With that loss, he fell to 1-3 with a 5.57 ERA in four career starts against the Diamondbacks. Stephen Drew (7-11) and Conor Jackson (3-10) have had the most success against the righty. Arizona is averaging 5.7 runs per game in the 15 day games they’ve played this season. We’ll recommend a play on Arizona plus the short price in this game this afternoon.

Free Pick: San Diego Padres -140 (Black Widow)
It’s hard to argue that Jon Garland has resurrected his career in San Diego. The righty is 6-2 with a 2.55 ERA this season, and 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA in 5 home starts this year. The Padres are 7-1 in Garland’s last 8 starts overall. Livan Hernandez has also resurrected his career in Washington, but recent signs point to a big drop-off from Hernandez the rest of the way. Hernandez is 0-2 with a 4.67 ERA in his last 3 starts, giving up 7 earned runs and 16 base runners in 11 innings in road losses to both the Giants and Rockies. In two 2009 starts against San Diego, Hernandez went 0-2 giving up 10 earned runs and 20 base runners in 13 innings. The Nationals are 13-42 in their last 55 road games with the total set at 7.0-8.5. Washington is just 2-8 in their last 10 games as an underdog. The Nationals are 0-6 in Hernandez’s last 6 starts vs. National League West foes, including 0-4 in his last 4 starts vs. San Diego. The Padres are 21-6 in their last 27 home meetings with Washington. Take San Diego on the Money Line.

Free Pick: Cincinnati Reds -1.5 +106 (Craig Trapp)
Better than even money with this huge mismatch, thats just too hard to pass up. The last two days have seen the Reds with double digit offensive explosions. Not likely to stop the tide today with Paulino going for HOU. He is 0-7 with a 5 plus ERA. Even worse for him is HOU has only averaged a little over 2 runs scored in his starts. On the other side we have CIN best pitcher so far Leake is 4-0 with a sub 3 ERA. HOU has not beat CIN in first 5 head to head matchup and even worse they have not been close losing by two or more in every game. This one smells like another blowout as the super hot bats of the Reds carry them once again!

Free Pick: Texas Rangers +127 (Rob Vinciletti)
On Sunday the free MLB Play is on the Texas Rangers as a nice dog play tonight. Texas fits a nice dog system that pertains to certain teams at home off a big home favored win. Texas has Lefty Holland, making the start and he has been solid thus far with a 2-0 2.86 record vs the Twins. The Rangers have been very profitable in this range as a dog the past few years. The Twins counter with S. Baker tonight. Baker is 2-2 with a 5.25 era vs the Rangers thus far. On Sunday we are fresh off the 3-0 Sweep. I have Huge MLB System Blowout play that has won every time and wins by over 4 runs per game. I also have a solid offshore steam play. These Steam plays have done real well so and cashed again on Saturday with Milwaukee. Jump on now and Cash big as we continue the torrid run. For the free play tonight take the Texas Rangers. RV

Free Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -114 (Jeff Alexander)
The Cards have an excellent opportunity to win this series behind Wainwright (2.37 ERA, 0.986 WHIP) today. Wainwright has been one of the best road pitchers in baseball and the Cardinals are 20-7 in his last 27 road starts as a result. They are 4-0 in his last 4 road starts vs. the Cubs as well. It is also worth noting that the Cards are a perfect 8-0 in Wainwright’s last 8 road starts vs. a team with a losing record and 23-6 in his last 29 starts following a team loss in their previous game. When in the underdog role it has been best to stay away from Dempster as the Cubs are just 6-18 in his last 24 starts as an underdog. Plus, they are 0-7 in Dempster’s last 7 starts during game 3 of a series. Take the Cards this afternoon.

Free Pick: New York Mets +122 (Jimmy Boyd)
The Mets have struggled on the road this season, but I like their chances today against a Brewers club that has struggled at home. Wolf takes the hill for Milwaukee this afternoon, and I expect his struggles to continue. He has an ERA of 5.89 over his last 3 starts and the Mets are hitting a solid .269 against southpaw starters and scoring 4.6 runs per game. As a result, they are 8-3 in their last 11 games vs. a left-handed starter. Dickey is coming off an excellent outing, pitching a shutout against the Phillies. In 2 appearances against the Brewers last season, Dickey threw three shutout innings as a reliever. Expect the knuckleballer to keep the Brewers off balance today. Lastly, the Mets are 5-1 in their last 6 games as an underdog of +110 to +150, and I’ll back them showing solid value here.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Francisco Giants Odds & Pick: May 30th 2010

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Francisco Giants
Free MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants -113 odds
Visit Touthouse.com for more MLB baseball picks from Jack Jones

The Giants look to cap off the series sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks to return the favor Sunday. San Francisco was swept at the hands of Arizona earlier this month on the road, and they want to give the Diamondbacks a little taste of their own medicine in this one. The Giants are 2-0 in this series heading into Sunday, outscoring Arizona 17-1 in the process. That improves the Giants to 17-9 at home this season where they are allowing just 2.7 RPG.

Giants’ starter Todd Wellemeyer has been at his best at home, going 3-1 with a 3.38 ERA and 1.088 WHIP. He’ll have the support of a bullpen tonight that has posted a miniscule 1.82 ERA at home this year. Wellemeyer wants a little revenge himself after losing to Ian Kennedy and the Diamondbacks on the road earlier this season. San Francisco is 32-13 against the money line at home with a money line of -100 to -150 over the last 2 seasons. Arizona is 0-6 in their last 6 games overall while the Giants are 7-1 in their last 8 home games. The Diamondbacks are 21-48 in the last 69 meetings in San Francisco. Bet the Giants.

Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals Odds & Pick: May 30th 2010

Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Free MLB Pick: Chicago cubs +107 odds
Visit Touthouse.com for more MLB baseball picks from John Ryan

3* graded play on the Cubs as they host the Cardinals set to start at 2:20 EST. Our proprietary sports handicapping model and simulator shows a high probability that the Cubs will win this game. Supporting this graded play is a system that has produced a record of 42-17 making 27.7 units since 2004. Play against road teams with a money line of -100 to -150 with an excellent defensive catcher allowing <=0.35 SB’s/game on the season facing an opponent starting a pitcher who gave up 1 or less earned runs last outing. Cubs are struggling to find their footings this season, BUT they are in a very strong position today. Note that they are 20-1 (+19.1 Units) against the money line in home games versus a very good bullpen whose WHIP is 1.250 or better over the last 3 seasons. Cubs starter Dempster is a solid 33-13 (+20.4 Units) against the money line at home when the money line is +125 to -125 since 1997.Take the Cubs.

Free MLB Pick: Orioles vs. Blue Jays Under 9 (Steve Merril)
Chris Tillman makes his first start of the season for the Baltimore Orioles as they take on Toronto Saturday afternoon. Tillman made 10 starts in AAA Norfolk going 5-4 with a 3.12 ERA. The righty had an impressive strikeout rate of 7.3 K/9 while there. Last season, he faced the Blue Jays twice in Toronto. He gave up six runs and 10 hits in 11.7 innings pitched in those two starts. Vernon Wells (0-6), Aaron Hill (1-6), Adam Lind (1-6), and John McDonald (0-2) have the worst numbers against Tillman. For all the offense that Toronto produces, they have gone Under in more than half of their home games. They’ve also gone Under in 10 of their 19 day games. Toronto’s Brett Cecil comes into this start after shutting down two good offenses out West. Cecil shut out the Angels for 7.3 innings as he gave up just two hits in that game. Before that, he gave up two runs ands seven hits to Seattle. The lefty faced the Orioles twice last season with both games going Under the total. Cecil gave up two runs and nine hits in 10.3 innings pitched. Nick Markakis (1-5), Cesar Izturis (1-4), and Matt Wieters (0-3) all have poor numbers against Cecil in limited at-bats. The Orioles have gone Under in 10 of 16 games against left-handed starters and Under in 18 of their 26 road games. They are hitting .250 away from home and have gone Under in three of their four games against Toronto this season. This has all the makings of a low-scoring game so we’ll recommend a play on the Under this afternoon.

MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox +130 (Tom Freese)
White Sox starter John Danks is 8-0 his last 8 Saturday starts. Chicago is 21-6 their last 27 Saturday games. The Pale Hose are 4-1 their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning record. The White Sox are 5-0 their last 5 road games when the Total is set at 7.0 to 8.5. Tampa starter Wade Davis has lost 3 of his last 4 starts. The Rays are 21-22 against the money line in home games vs. teams who average 2.75 or less over the last two seasons. PLAY ON CHICAGO (Danks vs. Davis)

MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 +112 (Craig Trapp)
Very simply this is a mismatch in every aspect of the game. On the season TOR is 4-0 winning all but one game by more than the R/L. Today TOR turns to super hot CECIL who has a 1.32 ERA in winning his last two starts. The left-hander was particularly sharp in his last outing, allowing two hits in 7 1/3 innings of a 6-0 win over Los Angeles on Monday night. Cecil is 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA in two career starts versus the Orioles. BALT turns to Tillman for his first major league start. Hard to have a tougher spot to start as TOR is best power hitting team in MLB today. BALT looks defeated after just looking horrible on FRI night. EASY winner tonight as TOR blows out BALT!

MLB Pick: Cincinnati Reds -165 (Carlo Campanella)
Cincinnati (28-20) hosts the second of a 3-game series against Houston (16-31) on Saturday. They’ll be hosting an Astros team that’s struggled on the road this season at 7-13 and will start Brian Moehler on the mound. Moehler has watched his Astros lose his last 3 trips to the mound, as he was shelled for 14 Earned Runs in only his last 7 Innings Pitched! With his confidence already hurting, he now must play on the road against a Red’s team that he’s 2-5 against with a 6.85 ERA. The last time he faced them, he was knocked out of the game in the 3rd inning after connecting for 8 Hits and 7 Earned Runs during a 10-4 loss. Things not looking good for Houston and Moehler, as the Reds have now scored 4 Runs or more in an INCREDIBLE 18 of their last 22 games!

MLB Pick: Philadelphia Phillies -117 (Rob Vinciletti)
On Saturday the free MLB Play is on the Philles. Game 909 at 7:10 eastern. The Marlins are 0-4 this year as a home dog in this range. Tonight they take on a Phillies team that has scored just 3 runs in 36 innings. Things don’t look to get any better as the Marlins will have to face staff ace R.Halladay. Roy Halladay has a 1.88 road era and has lost in his last 3 starts. Halladay was real good in his start vs Philly. He allowed 2 runs in 8+ innings of work. J.Johnson is on the mound and he has not fared well with this lineup. Johnson has allowed 9 earned runs in just a shade over 9 innings. Look for the Phillies to get the win tonight. In NBA Action we have a Game 6 Side that qualifies in 2 Big systems. The NBA Has been real hot as we Cashed with Phoenix on Thursday and Boston on Friday. In MLB we have a big 5* Diamond Cutter system that will get you the cash. These Diamond Cutter systems have bee real tight all year. Jump on and cash out big. RV
