Rice vs. Texas Prediction: College Football Picks for September 3rd 2011

Rice vs. Texas
Prediction: Texas -24 (September 3rd 2011)

Free Play from Doc’s Sports. #80 Take Texas over Rice (Saturday 8 pm Longhorn network) This will be a game most of the country will not be able to watch, as the Longhorn network kicks off with an in-state battle between the Rice Owls and the Texas Longhorns. Texas is coming off a terrible season in 2010 when they did not even qualify for a bowl game. Coach Brown knows that he needs to make a statement in this game and Rice is the perfect opponent to do that against. Rice is just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against Big XII opponents. Texas is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against Conference USA opponents. Both of these trends hold true tonight, as Texas runs it up on the Longhorn Network. Do not miss Doc’s Sports opening weekend card for college football. Our top play goes on Friday and you can receive all of our picks by signing-up for a one week package. Los Angeles Angels vs. Seattle Mariners Pick: MLB Odds for August 31st 2011

Los Angeles Angels vs. Seattle Mariners
Pick: Seattle Mariners +106 MLB odds (August 31st 2011)

5* graded play on Seattle as they host the LA Angels set to start at 10:10 PM ET. My proprietary sports handicapping database and simulator shows a high probability that Seattle will win this game. Supporting this graded play is a system that has produced a record of 102-57 making 44.4 units per one unit wagered since 2005. Play on home teams when the money line is +125 to -125 that is a poor AL offensive team scoring <=4.5 runs per game starting a well rested pitcher who is working on five or six days rest and facing a team with a good bullpen sporting an ERA<=3.75. Seattle is the worst offense in the majors, but they have one of the best starters in the majors and the defending Cy Young Award winner in Felix Hernandez on the hill tonight. Seattle ranks 29th in the majors scoring 468 runs scored, 30th (dead last) with a .235 team batting average, 30th with a .297 on-base-percentage, and 30th with a .349 slugging-percentage. However, since the all-star break Seattle ranks 14th in the majors with a .259 team batting average so they are far better than in the first half of the season. Many times getting Hernandez three runs is all it takes for the team to win. Hernandez has posted a 3.86 ERA and a 1.381 WHIP over his last three starts. For the season he has struck out 195 batters and is averaging 7.2 innings per start in 28 made starts. Dan Haren will start for Anaheim and he was roughed up in his last start allowing six ER on 11 hits including two home runs in an 11-7 loss at Texas. Hernandez is a solid 17-5 (+11.6 Units) against the money line at home when the money line is +125 to -125 since 1997. Take the Seattle Mariners.

MLB Odds: Philadelphia Phillies vs. Cincinnati Reds Pick: August 30th 2011

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Cincinnati Reds
Pick: Philadelphia Phillies -172 MLB odds (August 30th 2011)

5* graded play on the Philadelphia Phillies as they take on the Cincinnati reds set to start at 7:05 PM ET. My proprietary simulator and statistical database shows a high probability that the Phillies will win this game. Supporting this graded play is a system that has produced a 57-10 record for 85.1% winners and has made 37.8 units per one unit wagered since 1997. Play on all favorites with a money line of -175 to -250 after a game where they stranded three or less runners on base, starting a pitcher who walked <=1 hitters each of his last two outings. Moreover, Halladay is now pitching on extra rest with the disruption of games over the weekend by Hurricane Irene. Further supporting this graded play are game situations noting that Reds starter Arroyo is just 6-14 (-11.7 Units) against the money line in home games facing a NL team with an on base percentage .325 or worse over the last three seasons. Halladay’s team record is a sparkling 20-4 (+11.7 Units) against the money line as a favorite of -150 or more this season. Take the Phillies. MLB Baseball Predictions: Angels vs. Mariners Odds: August 29th 2011

Los Angeles Angels vs. Seattle Mariners
MLB Baseball Prediction: Seattle Mariners +120 odds (August 29th 2011)

5* graded play on Seattle as they take on the Anaheim Angels set to start at 10:10 PM ET. My proprietary simulator and statistical database shows a high probability that Seattle will win this game. Anaheim is coming off a loss with their ace Weaver pitching last night and lost two of three games to the AL West division leading Rangers. The Angels trail the Rangers by three games. Although they need to continue winning and extending their recent 7-3 winning streak they will be flat for this game tonight. Losing two-of three to the rangers and then having to travel late exacerbates fatigue at this time of the season. Supporting this graded play is a system that has produced an 88-32 record for 73.3% winners and has made 49.2 units per one unit wagered since 2005. Play against any team that is a struggling AL offensive team scoring <=4.2 runs per game and facing a good starting pitcher sporting an ERA<=4.20 and after allowing nine runs or more. Further supporting this graded play are game situations noting that the Angels are just 11-21 (-12.8 Units) against the money line in road games facing an AL team with an on base percentage .330 or worse in the second half of the season over the last two seasons. I strongly believe that Seattle will have great success against their former starter Pineiro tonight. Take Seattle. Get more MLB baseball predictions from John Ryan at Touthouse.com

Raiders vs. Broncos Point Spread: Week 1 NFL Picks for September 12th 2011

Oakland Raiders vs. Denver Broncos
Monday, September 12th 2011 10:15 PM ET – TV: ESPN

Point Spread:
Oakland Raiders +3 Points -110
Denver Broncos -3 Points -110
Over/Under 39 Points -110

WEEK 1 NFL PICKS: CLICK FOR THE WINNING MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PICK

The Scoop: The Oakland Raiders (8-8 SU, 9-7 ATS) and Denver Broncos (4-12 SU, 5-10-1 ATS) will square off in a prime time AFC West matchup that will tell a lot about both teams as they move further into the 2011 NFL regular season.

The Raiders fired former head coach Tom Cable in favor of offensive-minded Hue Jackson and believe they can contend for the AFC West title as early as this season. The Broncos have a new head coach in former Carolina Panthers longtime leader John Fox and they are expecting to improve immediately despite nearly trading its best quarterback by far in veteran Kyle Orton.

Denver has lost three straight home games against their hated division rivals, including last season’s 59-14 blowout as a 7-point home favorite.

Patriots vs. Dolphins Point Spread: Week 1 NFL Picks for September 12th 2011

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins
Monday, September 12, 7:00 PM ET – TV: ESPN

Point Spread:
New England Patriots -7 -110
Miami Dolphins +7 -110
Over/Under 45 Points -110

WEEK 1 NFL PICKS: CLICK FOR THE WINNING MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PICK

The Scoop: The New England Patriots (14-2 SU, 10-5-1 ATS) have set the bar so high under Bill Bellichick and Tom Brady that anything short of a Super Bowl victory is considered a failure. The Pats upgraded their defense after playing mediocre football on that side of the ball last season and will have another shot at winning the AFC this year because of it.

The Miami Dolphins (7-9 SU, 8-8 ATS) have played third fiddle to the Patriots and Jets in the AFC East the last two seasons and need a lot of improvement out of quarterback Chad Henne if they want to beat their division rivals this season. The bad news for Fins fans is the fact that Miami has lost three of their last four home games against the Pats including a 41-14 rout last season.
