The Bengals have been one of the most pleasant surprises of the 2009 NFL wagering season. At 3-1, re tied for first place in
the AFC North, a game ahead of the Steelers. Surprisingly, QB Carson Palmer hasn’t really a fantastic season. He has thrown for 845 yards and six but he has also thrown five picks and only completed of his passes. RB Cedric Benson has been the real -maker of the offense, as he has resurrected his career, for 367 yards and two TDs in four games. Last week, the Bengals picked up their third victory by beating the Browns 23-20. It didn’t come easily, though. Cincinnati trailed by six points and scored a touchdown in the dying moments, botched the extra point and to play overtime. Still, when it was said and done, a field goal in the fleeting moments of the extra locked up the victory. It was Cincy’s first failed attempt at covering the spread since Week 1. The underdog has covered all four Bengals games this season, winning three of the four games outright.

Baltimore may have lost last week, but it certainly proved that it was good enough to play with anyone, anywhere in the NFL. not for two late dropped passes, the Ravens probably would’ve beaten Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Week 5 NFL betting action. In the end though, the comeback attempt came up just short. The final tally was 27-21. QB Joe Flacco continued his strong play this season, going 27/47 for 264 yards with two TDs against the stout New England defense. The Ravens rank in the Top-6 in every major offensive category this season, which could them the favorite to win the Super Bowl at this point in the season. It’s already proven this defense can be one of the scariest in the league. Though Baltimore is averaging allowing 20.0 points per game, a middle of road number in the NFL, its rushing defense is still the best in NFL, holding opponents to just 59.5 yards on the ground per game.

The Bengals are just 4-11 ATS in their L/15 games in the AFC and 2-ATS in their L/8 against the AFC To the contrary, Baltimore is 11-3 ATS in its L/14 in conference and 7-2 ATS in its L/9 in division. The Ravens swept the season series last year, winning 34-3 in Cincy and 17-10 at home.
