The Philadelphia Phillies have now won 10 consecutive games, but we see that streak coming to an end today vs. Carlos Zambrano and the Chicago Cubs.

Zambrano is now 6-4 with a 3.36 ERA for the season, and he has a stellar 2.91 ERA on the road. More importantly, Big Z is in vintage form right now, as he has allowed three earned runs or less in 13 of his last 14 starts, and he allowed only four earned runs in the other outing. As hot as the Phillies are right now, they are still batting a modest .255 vs. right-handed pitchers over the last 10 games, and they are facing a very good one today that could shut them down.

The Phillies counter with the ageless Jamie Moyer, and while he has been pitching better lately, he still has a high 5.58 ERA and 1.41 WHIP on the year, and those numbers are even worse at hitter-friendly Citizens Park, where he owns a lofty 6.79 ERA and 1.53 WHIP. Moyer has not pitched particularly well in his last three starts vs. the Cubs either, allowing 10 earned runs and 26 hits in 15.1 innings while not going more than 5.1 innings in any of those starts.

It is also interesting that the Cubs have almost as many road wins (20) as the Phillies have home wins (24) this year, and we feel that this pitching matchup is so lopsided that the Cubs should notch another road victory and snap the Philadelphia streak.
