Brooklyn Nets vs. Detroit Pistons

Free NBA pick for Wednesday from Doc’s Sports. Just think that this point total is a bit too high, probably by three points or so. Brooklyn, although not consistent, has played pretty good defense lately. And it seems like whenever they have an off night defensively that they have an off night offensively as well. But six of their last nine games have gone under the posted number. Detroit hasn’t been playing the greatest defense, but they have played a lot of teams that like to run. But this team is more than solid defensively at home, allowing less than 95 points per game here. Brooklyn is not a very explosive offensive team, and they have scored 94 or less in seven of their last nine games. We don’t see them getting very close to that tonight. Actually, we see the winner here winding up in the low-to-mid-90s with the loser not far behind. We just see this as a very defensive game with two strong defensive teams that are not very good offensively (both teams are in the top half of the league defensively and the bottom half offensively). We think this total has been posted a bit high because these teams have played five straight overs. But in the lone meeting this season, the teams played to 212 for the total. But that game went to overtime. At the end of regulation the teams had only 180 combined. We think this one has the potential to turn out like that game (but hopefully without the overtime!)
