Washington Capitals @ Philadelphia Flyers u5.5 (-120)
Thu Apr 17 ‘08 7:05p - Click Here for Playoff Odds
The Washington Capitals and the Philadelphia Flyers have gone Over in two of the first three games of this series, but we expect tonight’s game to closely resemble Game 2, which was won by Philadelphia 2-0.
Game 3 got out of hand early when the Flyers scored three goals in the first period, putting the Capitals in an offensive posture in the early stages. With their playoff lives virtually on the line here, we look for Washington to be more defensive at the outset, knowing they could ill afford to fall behind early with a possible 3-1 series deficit staring them in the face.
It is not as if the Capitals can’t play defense, as they allowed three goals or less in each of their last seven regular season games including allowing two goals or less in five of them, and they were certainly stingy in that 2-0 loss in Game 2. In fact, the Under is surprisingly 45-37 in all Washington games this year, as the presence of Alexander Ovechkin has probably in inflated their totals a bit.
Speaking of Ovechkin, the Flyers have done an amazing job of shutting him down this series, and tonight may be another struggle for him as Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen will be playing after leaving Game 3 early with a shoulder injury. Besides shutting down Ovechkin, the Flyers have gotten some nice goaltending from Marty Biron in this series, whose shutout in Game 2 was his sixth of the year.
Thus, we look for both teams to be defensive-minded for at least the first period, and probably longer for the Flyers as they continue to concentrate of stopping Ovechkin. Thus, as long as the Flyers don’t get any cheap early goals, we do not see these teams exceeding five combined goals tonight. - Courtesy of LT Profits

Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins u5.0 (115)
Fri Apr 11 ‘08 7:05p - 2008 NHL Playoff Odds
The Pittsburgh Penguins are supposed to score goals, but it is their defense that smothered the Ottawa Senators 4-0 in Game 1, and that unit will determine just how deep this team goes in the playoffs.
In fact, the Penguins have now allowed two goals or less in seven consecutive games, so it is not as if that performance in the series opener came out of nowhere. They have gotten great goaltending from both Marc-Andre Fleury and backup Ty Conklin, who each have identically good save percentages of .923 this year. Not that surprisingly, the Under is 7-1 in the last eight Pittsburgh games overall.
The Senators were certainly frustrated in the opener, and that was illustrated by some chippy play in the third period. That contest marked the third time that the supposedly high-powered Sens were shut out in the last five games, and they scored just one goal in one other game. Sure they scored eight goals in the fifth contest, but that was vs. a dreadful Toronto Maple Leafs team.
We look for the Penguins to shut down Ottawa again tonight, and while we have no interest in laying the chalk with the Pittsburgh side, we do find the plus odds attached to the Under here quite attractive. - Courtesy of LT Profits

New York Rangers @ New Jersey Devils u4.5
Wed Apr 9 ‘08 7:05p - Click Here for NHL Playoff Hockey Odds
The NHL playoffs, usually signal, the beginning, of a new season, and a added attention to defense. Tonight Im expecting more of the same , as two division rivals the Rangers and the Devils go head to head. .In the recent past , these teams have played many tight , physical battles , which have resulted in a series that has predominantly been low scoring. Since the start of the 2003-04 season these two franchises have combined to play Under the set total in 20 of 34 times with 7 pushes. During that span with New Jersey playing as hosts, 10 games have ended below the number with 4 pushes. This season has seen five of eight (1 push) finish Under the number with the Devils a perfect 0-3-1 O/U at home. With these squads and coaching staffs knowing each other’s game inside out …. why should the postseason be any different. Play Under

St. Louis Blues (130)
Sun Apr 6 ‘08 3:05p
Neither the St. Louis Blues nor the Columbus Blue Jackets are going to the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, but that does not mean value can’t be found in the Blues as a nice underdog in the season finale.
After all, the Blue Jackets have now lost four straight games and seven of their last eight, so frankly, they do not deserve to be this big of a favorite over anyone. They have scored a grand total of 12 goals in their last eight games (1.50 goals per game), lowering they average for the season to a poor 2.30 goals per contest.
The Blues shut out Columbus 5-0 last night in the front end of this home-and-home season ending series, bringing St. Louis to 4-1 in the last five meetings with the Jackets. Furthermore, the last three St. Louis wins in this series have not been close, as prior to last night’s shutout, the previous two wins were by 5-1 and 6-1 counts.
This line looks like an overcompensation for Columbus being home, so take St. Louis at this price.

Atlanta Thrashers @ Tampa Bay Lightning u5.5 (100)
Mon Mar 31 ‘08 7:35p - Click Here for Hockey Odds

Granted, the Thrashers are coming off of a 7-1 loss at Carolina, but that snapped a streak of seven consecutive road Unders for them. We don’t expect them to give up another seven-spot to Tampa Bay here, so look for a return to normalcy. The Thrashers are averaging just 2.27 goals per game on the road over the entire season, and they have now gone 12 consecutive road games without scoring more than three goals.
The Lightning are coming off of a 2-1 home win over that same Carolina team, and that brings the Under to 9-3 in the last 12 Tampa Bay home games. The Ning have played better than expected defensively at home this year allowing 2.90 goals per game, but they have underperformed offensively as of late, averaging only 2.40 goals over that last five games.
That sounds like a nice recipe for an Under here.

Washington Capitals -105.0
Sat Mar 29 ‘08 7:05p - Click Here for Current NHL Hockey Odds
The Washington Capitals enter into this tilt against their hosts the Florida Panthers winning 7 of their L/8 overall , including 4 of their L/5 on the road, as they continue their desperate quest for a post season appearance. The Florida Panthers , who have lost 3 of their L/4 and are all but eliminated from this years play offs do not have as much to play for , thus making a very motivated Capitals team the right side this evening. Final notes & Key Trends: Washington is 5-0 L5 vs Eastern Conference foes. Play on Washington (moneyline)

Dallas Stars (130)
Thu March 27 ‘08 10:05p
The Dallas Stars have been one of the better road teams in the NHL, and we look for them to get it done at a nice price when they visit the San Jose Sharks tonight.
The Stars are 20-14-3 away from home, and they have flourished in this underdog role, going a stellar 8-2 the last 10 times they were at positive odds. They have also won all three trips into San Jose this season, all at nice odds. In fact, the visiting team is a perfect 6-0 in all head-to-head encounters between these clubs this year.
The Shark could now relax with the two-seed in the West virtually sewn up, and they played like it on Tuesday, turning in a lackluster defensive performance in a 5-4 loss at Phoenix. They may also be short a defensemen here as Philipe Boucher nurses a shoulder injury.
We look for the Stars to extend the incredible streak by the visiting teams in this series, again at a nice price.

New York Rangers -140.0
Thu March 27 ‘08 7:05p
The NJ Devils enter into this contest against their long time rivals the NY Rangers struggling in a big way, losing 4 straight games , as they find it hard to put pucks in the net , as is evident by scoring just 3 goals during the above mentioned span. Thats not a good omen against a Rangers team that has dominated them this season, winning all 6 meetings. Final notes & Key Trends: NYR goalie Henrik Lunqvist has compiled a stingy 0.81 GAA in those games , and is 7-0-1 along with stingy 1.10 GAA lifetime vs NJ. Play on the Rangers to bring home the cash here in MSG tonight

Vancouver Canucks @ Calgary Flames u5.0 (-105)
