GAME:  New York Giants @ Chicago Bears Dec 2, 2007 4:15PM
PICK:  New York Giants

REASON FOR PICK: New York is looking to avoid it annual late season collapse as it has now lost two of three since the bye week. I don’t think it is time to panic yet as the loss to Dallas was expected while the loss last week can be chalked up to just one of those bad games. Eli Manning is coming off his worst game ever and how he responds will show a lot in how the Giants will respond for the remainder of the season. Manning is only 7-15 in his 22 starts after Week 12 but is looking for a big bounce back.

Chicago is coming off a game it should not have won and could very well come out flat as the Bears trailed the Broncos by two touchdowns late in the 4th quarter in the victory. Devin Hester was the story with two kick returns for scores but it is hard to overlook the fact that Chicago was still outgained on offense by 137 total yards. And this against a defense not nearly as good as what it will face Sunday. As much as everyone talks about the game coming down to Manning, it will come down to the running game.

The Giants were outrushed by the Vikings by 52 yards, the first time in seven games that it has been outgained on the ground. Chicago meanwhile has been outgained in eight of its last nine games on the ground with the lone edge coming at Seattle by only four yards. For the season, New York is +0.6 ypc in rushing margin while the Bears are -1.1 ypc in margin. Brandon Jacobs is out but Reuben Droughns and Derrick Ward, who will be back after missing four games, are both quality backs.

The Giants were crushed by Minnesota and missed the cover by a whopping 31 points and that actually sets them up in a great situation. Play on any team after losing their last game by 28 points or more against the number after the first month of the season. This situation is 41-14 ATS (74.5 percent) over the last 10 seasons. The Bears have covered only once in five home games this season and are 0-5 ATS following a straight up win going back to last season. The Giants are 6-2 ATS in their last eight on the road. Play New York Giants 1.5 Units

Matt Fargo is back in action on Sunday after starting the week with a winner with Dallas on Thursday! He has shown a profit of $13,950 on the year with his Premium selections and has won $25,150 since 12/31 of last season! Wiseguys are 9-4 ATS (69.2%) in the NFL and extended backed by a 52-12 (81.2%) Power Situation! Guaranteed!
