Free Pick: Illinois +3 (Jimmy Boyd)
Purdue is struggling, having lost 3 in a row, and it gets no easier tonight against an Illinois team that has performed very well against the Boilermakers of late. Illinois has won 3 of the last 4 meetings between these two teams, sweeping the regular season series last year before losing to the Boilers in the Big Ten tourney. You can bet the Illini have not forgotten about that defeat. The Illini will be further motivated by their first Big Ten defeat this season to Michigan State last game. A big key for the Illini tonight will be the play of 7-1 junior Mike Tisdale. Tisdale had been averaging 20.3 points in his first four Big Ten contests before the Spartans held him to just two points last game. Expect him to bounce back strong tonight. Illinois is a perfect 10-0 at home this season so I’ll gladly take these 3 points on its home floor. Plus, plays on home teams where the line is +3 to -3 off a road loss by 10 points or more, on Tuesday nights, are an impressive 38-16 ATS the last 5 seasons. The Boilermakers are also just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games as a road favorite. Take Illinois and the points.

Free Pick: Northwestern +10.5 (Craig Trapp)
507 Northwestern +10.5: This underdog not only can cover spreads (9-4 ATS Record) but they can pull huge upsets. NW is coming off a home upset of highly ranked Purdue and a very close loss to Wisconsin the game before that. OSU has back Evan Turner but still they are not great at covering ATS going only 9-9 this year. A bigger problem for OSU is they still rely a ton on three point shots to pull away from teams. Not good news as NW is holding teams to only 28% from the 3 this year. Expect a low scoring affair as NW tries to cover against OSU again (6-2 ATS last 8 games these two played). If you have not watched NW this year make sure you check this out as they have a legitimate shot to pull off a big upset again.
