OVER 10 Pittsburgh/Colorado:
Two struggling pitchers take center stage today in a game that we love the over. Paul Maholm (4-3, 4.23) goes up against Jorge De La Rosa (2-7, 5.81). Maholm has been up and down all year but was simply awful in his last outing, allowing 14 hits and 8 runs in just 5 innings of work against the Twins this past Tuesday night. He’s a solid starter but prone to outings like his last far too often. De La Rosa hasn’t found much success in the National League, pitching to a 2-7 record thus far in 2009. His last outing was putrid, allowing 8 hits and 7 runs in just 2 1/3 innings pitched against the Rays on Tuesday. Bottom line, both of these pitchers have been terrible recently, and we really like the over this afternoon.
