Tommy Hanson makes his much awaited Major League debut for the Braves and it couldn’t come at a better time for Atlanta. Milwaukee has taken the first two games of the series, and the Braves need to bounce back here at home. Milwaukee counters with Manny Parra (3-7, 6.75), who has really been terrible this season. His last start may have been his worse, as he allowed 10 ER in just 4 innings pitched in a blowout loss to Florida. The Braves find themselves 6 games back in the National League East and need to finish off this series with a win before the Pirates come in for 4 starting tomorrow.

Detroit -125 over LA Angels:
Rick Porcello goes to the mound for the Tigers this afternoon coming off his worst outing of 2009. He was lit up for 3 ER in just 4 innings pitched Tuesday vs. The Red Sox. He seemed to have command problems from the start that night and was out early in the Tigers 5-1 loss. Lefty All Star Joe Saunders (6-4, 3.77) hasn’t been his usual self lately. He’s lost 2 straight, including allowing 6 ER in just 5 1/3 Innings last Tuesday at Toronto. The Tigers still lead the the AL Central despite losing 4 of 5 on this current homestand. After today’s game, Detroit plays their next 10 games on the road, including 4 at Chicago, where the White Sox sit only 3.5 games back. Detroit needs to get this win to salvage something from this homestand.
