LA is 8-1 against the money line vs. an AL team with a batting average of .285 or better in the second half of the season this season, 28-11 (+15.3 Units) against the money line vs. teams whose hitters strike out 6 or less times/game in the second half of the season over the last 2 seasons, and 20-9 against the money line after scoring 8 runs or more this season. 1 Unit on Cincinnati +154 (action) The Giants have lost 7 of their last 9 games really cashing this season in. Unfortunately, that kind of play cashes nothing in for backers. San Fran is just 1-8 against the money line vs. an NL starting pitcher whose ERA is 6.70 or worse over the last 2 seasons. This team has not beat the teams and the pitchers it is supposed to beat and that’s why it has had such a rough season. Cain is winless in his last 3 starts. We’ll take the Reds as they appear to be the hungrier team at this point.
MLB Baltimore vs. Texas

1 Unit on Texas -142 (listing Zambrano and McCarthy) Baltimore is 2-14 against the money line revenging a loss vs opponent as a home favorite this season. I wouldn’t bet the O’s in this spot if I were you. Texas’ recent struggles can be attributed to a long road trip. Home field has treated the Rangers well all season where they are 10 games over .500. Zambrano is winless in 2007 with an ERA of 16.85 his last 3 starts. We’ll take the Rangers at home in this one.

1 Unit on Philadelphia Phillies -123 (Action) The Philadelphia Phillies are in a do-or-die situation in this series against Washington. We are getting a very good price on the Phillies as just a small road favorite. Philadelphia is 4-0 in Kyle Lohse’s last 4 starts overall and 5-0 in Lohse’s last 5 games against the NL East Division. The Phillies are 9-1 in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Nationals are 1-6 in their last 7 games as a home underdog of +110 to +150. Philadelphia will not lose in this must-win situation with Lohse on the hill today. Cash in with the Phillies.
MLB New York (N) vs. Florida

1* on NY Mets -150 (List Glavine) The New York Mets finally ended their 5-game skid last night with a win over Washington. Now they take on Dontrelle Willis and a Marlins team near the bottom of the league tonight. Tom Glavine is Mr. consistency for the New York Mets this season. He is 13-6 with a 3.88 ERA on the year. He has really picked it up when New York has needed him most recently. He has a 2-0 record in his last 3 starts featuring just a 1.74 ERA. Dontrelle Willis is 9-14 on the year and has a 7.71 ERA in his last 3 starts for Florida. The Mets are 6-1 in Glavine’s last 7 road starts vs. a team with a losing record. The Marlins are 2-11 in Willis’ last 13 starts overall. Take New York and Tom Glavine in this one.
