The Los Angeles Dodgers just swept a three-game series at Florida to extend their winning streak to six games, and we like their pitching to shut down the slumping Colorado Rockies bats tonight.

Brad Penny takes the start for the Dodgers here, and he has reeled off three consecutive Quality Starts to improve to 4-2 on the year. He allowed just 19 baserunners in 18.2 innings over those three outings, one of which was against these Rockies during the Dodgers’ three-game sweep at Los Angeles. Penny has not minded pitching in the altitude of Colorado either, posting Quality Starts in each of his last four appearances here. Finally, the Dodgers also fall into our Bullpen System, as they currently rank fifth in the Major Leagues with a 3.14 pen ERA.

Jeff Francis has been very disappointing for the Rockies so far, with a 5.01 ERA in five starts. This is bad news considering that he does not figure to get much run support tonight. Not only are the Rockies facing a tough pitcher in Penny, but their offense has struggles against everyone this season. Colorado is batting just .247 as a team overall while averaging 4.07 runs per game, and even playing at home has not been as helpful as it usually is, as the Rocks are hitting .256 here.
