New Jersey Nets @ Miami Heat u189.0
Friday February 1 ‘08 8:05p
The Miami Heat are really struggling and just going through the motions, while New Jersey their opponents continue to have in house problems associated with Jason Kidds legal troubles, and his recent demand for a trade. Neither of these teams is playing with a lot of enthusiasm of late, and that will translate on the court tonight in, what I predict will be a fairly low scoring sleep feast . Final notes & Key Trends: Dwayne Wade (knee) is expected rest tonight.) The Heat have not scored more than 100 points in 15 straight games. Play under
Washington Wizards +4.0
Friday February 1 ‘08 8:05p
This play is the result of a successful computer model that has allowed Bob Akmens Sports to finish in first-place in 152 different categories of documented monitored handicapping contests since 1978. The computer models I’ve developed for each sport look at the most-predictive variables that go into the winning and losing of games. Several interesting factors in today’s play are as follows:
The Utah Jazz are especially poor in these point spread categories:
1-5 LAST 6 & 8-16 LAST 24 VS SE DIVISION OPPONENTS
5-11 LAST 16 AFTER 3 OR MORE UNDERS IN A ROW
The Washington Wizards excel in these categories:
6-3 LAST 9 AFTER SCORING 85 POINTS OR LESS IN A GAME
9-3 LAST 12 AFTER ALLOWING 105 OR MORE POINTS IN A GAME
7-2 LAST 9 AFTER LOSING BY 10 OR MORE POINTS IN A GAME

Cornell +3.0 (-110)
Friday February 1 ‘08 7:00p
We feel that the Cornell Big Red are a much better team than the Brown Bears this season, and we look for Cornell to prevail even on the road here. The Big Red are 10-5 straight up on the season including 2-0 in Ivy League play, and they have done a fine job when they have been on the board, going 4-2 against the spread. Remember that this team covered vs. the likes of Duke and Syracuse in non-conference play, and that has served them well vs. their Ivy opponents. Now Brown is off to a 9-7 start, but they have not faced the same quality opposition as Cornell, and they have even lost at home to Wagner in a non-lined contest. They also already have a conference loss to Yale, albeit in overtime, and Cornell has gone 5-1 straight up in the last six head-to-head meetings, including a season sweep last year. Finally, the visiting team is an amazing 11-1-1 ATS in the last 13 head-to-head meetings, and we look for Big Red to keep that trend going with an outright win. CBB Free Pick: Cornell +3

Dallas Stars @ Edmonton Oilers u5.0 (110)
Friday February 1 ‘08 9:05p
The Dallas Stars defeated the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in a shootout when these clubs last met right here in this building and we look for another low scoring affair tonight. The Oilers have struggled to score goals all year, especially at home where they are averaging just 2.31 goals per game. In fact, the Under is a sparkling 8-1-1 in their last 10 home games. They do not figure to improve tonight vs. Dallas goaltender Marty Turco, who has enjoyed playing in Edmonton, going 5-0 with a 2.16 GAA in his last five starts here. Now the Stars are coming off of a 4-3 win at Vancouver on Tuesday, but they have still scored three goals or less in nine of their last 11 road games. Also, four of the last six head-to-head meetings between these teams have failed to exceed five combined goals scored.Look for another typical matchup between these teams tonight. NHL Free Pick: Stars, Oilers Under 5 (+110)
