Last we saw the Warriors, they were getting smeared on their own turf by a finely tuned Wisconsin team that went on to secure a Champs Sports Bowl victory against Miami. The Warriors closed as 12-point home underdogs in that aforementioned game, ultimately losing by a 51-10 final tally. With 12 starters back from last year’s 6-7 team, the Warriors now find themselves three TD underdogs in their home opener against the mighty USC Trojans. Are they still really that mighty though? The defense faltered dramatically in ‘09, while the offense looked to be a shell of its former self. Throw all the NCAA Sanctions drama into the mix along with new HC Lane Kiffin and the gang, and I simply have no answer as to why JQP has bet this line up from the opener of 18. On principal alone I must fade Kiffin in his first go round as head coach of the Trojans after he left Knoxville high and dry. Serves him right to be forced to deal with the carnage left from the Carroll regime. Hawaii will have problems containing the Trojans ground attack, but I foresee them hanging in against the passing game since they boast an experienced and chippy secondary. USC survives its trip to the island, but the Warriors represent well and hang within this absurd pointspread.
