The top team in the country will put their undefeated season on the line in Columbia in a Tuesday night NCAA basketball betting tussle when the Kentucky Wildcats (19-0, 9-8 ATS) square off against the South Carolina Gamecocks (11-8, 7-9 ATS). The Cats just continue to claw their way to win after win, and their most recent triumph came against Arkansas, 101-70 on Saturday. South Carolina appears to be heading towards the NIT once again, as it has lost three straight games in conference play and has six losses in its L/10 games overall.

Without a doubt, HC John Calipari has himself a heck of a team. G John Wall is one of the most explosive guards in the nation. The true freshman is leading the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game. He is also capable of making any pass in the game, and it’s showing in his 6.8 assists per game which equates to more than 40% of the team’s total output. F Patrick Patterson and F DeMarcus Cousins are also both incredible talents and can’t be ignored. They are #1 and #2 on the team in rebounding and are also combining to average 31.3 points per game.

Especially after they only scored a total of 113 points in their L/2 games, the Gamecocks have their work cut out for them against one of the top offenses in the country. G Devan Downey probably has to have the night of his life for South Carolina to pull off the upset. He is one of the top scorers in the conference scoring 21.9 points per game, and he’s largely doing it without much help. Of the rest of the players that are healthy and in the lineup right now, only G Brandis Raley-Ross is averaging double digits in scoring. Matching up in the post is going to be virtually impossible, as no one has the size or talent of Patterson and Cousins on the SC roster.

Even though the Wildcats are 15-5 SU against South Carolina over the L/20 college basketball gambling affairs between these two teams, it is the Gamecocks that have been on the winning side of the most recent battles. Carolina won 77-59 at home against Kentucky last season, and pulled off a shocking 78-77 upset in Lexington just four weeks prior to that.
