When are the oddsmakers going to catch on to the fact that the Thunder is for real this season? Yes, Oklahoma City was just waxed 83-74 at home against Portland two nights ago, but the LA Lakers are in a miserable spot in this game and have no real motivation whatsoever.

First off, it’s pretty clear that the Lakers are hurting without F Pau Gasol in the lineup. They’re 0-3 ATS without their star, and before pasting Atlanta 118-110 on Sunday night, they had shown no offensive capabilities whatsoever. The scheduling spot is nightmarish for HC Phil Jackson’s squad, as tomorrow night, Los Angeles has to head to Houston to tango with a Houston team that will be out for revenge after last season’s playoff loss.

The Lakers have never lost in Oklahoma City, but the Thunder have never been in this type of a position before. This may legitimately be the most important game in the brief history of OKC basketball, and catching this many points against a short-handed bunch of Lakers in a bad scheduling spot is too ripe to miss out on.
