The Central Michigan Chippewas will play in their third consecutive showing in the Motor City Bowl when they take on the Florida Atlantic Owls this Friday, December 26th. This will be the first matchup between the two teams on the field. Last season the Owls won the Sun Belt Conference title and earned a position in the New Orleans Bowl where the team crushed Memphis by a score of 44-27. As for the Chippewas they will be playing in their third straight bowl game. Overall, the Chippewas will be playing in their fifth postseason game in school history, but will be looking for just their second win overall. Central Michigan’s only bowl game win came back in 2006 when the team handled Middle Tennessee by a score of 31-14 in their first showing in the Motor City Bowl. Last year, the Chippewas lost in this bowl to Purdue in a very close game by a score of 51-48.
