NBA Basketball Picks: December 12th, 2007
NBA Basketball Picks: Utah vs. Phoenix
Take Phoenix Suns
1 Unit on Suns -6.5 Utah has lost 4 in a row and 5 straight ATS. A terrible defeat last night as a 13-point fav at home against Portland will not be an easy one to bounce back from. The Suns have lost 2 in a row, but with a day’s rest to regroup from a home loss to Miami, we feel the Suns will be ready to roll here tonight at home. Utah is just 7-17 ATS when playing on back-to-back days over the last 2 seasons and 4-15 ATS in road games off a home loss against a division rival since 1996. The Suns are 14-3 ATS after allowing 60 points or more in the first half last game over the last 2 seasons and 15-5 ATS after failing to cover the spread in 2 or more consecutive games over the last 2 seasons. Take Phoenix at home in this bounce back spot.
NBA Basketball Picks: Sacramento vs. Boston
Take Sacramento Kings
1 Unit on Sacramento +15 Plain and simple, Sac is catching too many points tonight and we’ll take advantage. The Kings have been playing solid basketball winning 8 of their last 12 ATS. Sacramento is 17-4 against Boston since 1996. The Kings come into this one with a lot of confidence after getting a win over Milwaukee. Boston has a big target on its back with the respect it has gained and Sac will try to knock it off here tonight. The Kings likely won’t walk away with a win, but they keep this one within 10 points.
Golden State Warriors -5.0
Wed Dec 12 ’07 10:05p
The Golden State Warriors continue to be hot , winning for the 12th time in 15 games, after last nights victory against the San Antonio Spurs . Their hosts the Portland Trailblazers have also been playing well as is evident by winning 4 straight games, but will start to feel the effects of playing without their leading scorer and only real inside presence LaMarcus Aldridge, who is expected to be out of the lineup for a week or more with foot problems. Final notes & Key Trends: Golden State has won 8 of the L/9 meetings in this series SU and have covered 7 of the L/9. The Warriors are 5-0 ATS L/5 as a favorite of 5 to 10.5 points, and 22-8 ATS under those line parameters. Play on Golden State to bring home the cash
Chicago Bulls @ Indiana Pacers o198.0 (-110)
Wed Dec 12 ’07 7:05p
The Bulls are a combined 5-11 ATS (31%) on the road this season against sub .500 divisional opponents, while the Pacers sport a combined record of 4-8 ATS (33%) at home vs. sub .500 divisional opponents. The Bulls took three of the four match-ups with the Pacers last season winning both games at home and splitting at Canseco Fieldhouse. Chicago is 4-1 ATS the L/5 overall meetings and 5-2 ATS the L/7 times they’ve paid the Pacers a visit. However, the favorite is a perfect 6-0 ATS the L/6 meetings, and the Pacers just so happen to find themselves in the chalk role at home for the first time since they hosted the Cavs back on November 25th.
Total players take note: The ‘Over’ is a perfect 4-0 ATS in the Pacers L/4 vs. Central Division opponents, and 5-0 ATS in the L/5 home games. The Bulls have also seen the ‘Over’ cash in 8 of their L/11 contests when installed as the underdog.
With Chicago finding its scoring touch of late, (99 PPG L/7), and the fact that Indy matador’s defense (105 PPG) has allowed opponents to average 118 points in its L/3 home games, I like the ‘Over’ in a big way!!!
Milwaukee Bucks +5.0 (-110)
Wed Dec 12 ’07 8:05p
This certainly will be a heavily played game as the betting public expects the Magic to bounce back from a pair of surprising home losses to Atlanta & Indiana. Orlando opened up as 3.5-point road favorites with the ‘Total’ set at 201.5. The Magic has been downright lethal on the road this season compiling an 11-2 SU mark and an unheard of 12-1 ATS mark, while the Bucks have won six of their eight home contests and made their backers $$$ in the process going 5-3 ATS. Now, this is where it gets tricky. Each club boasts positives marks in tonight’s match-up scenario. The Magic is a combined 27-2 ATS (93%) on the road vs. sub .500 non-divisional Eastern Conference opponents, while the Bucks are a solid 12-6 ATS (67%) combined at home vs. +.500 non-divisional Eastern Conference opponents. Both are impressive marks to say the least, which has me scratching my head as to why the Magic have already been bought into so heavily.
Milwaukee is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days, & they’ve cashed their backers tickets 4 of the L/5 times they’ve been installed home underdogs. Add to the fact that the Bucks have owned the Magic ATS at home the last couple years (10-4-1 ATS), and we’ve got a solid recipe for a barking home dawg winner!!! Orlando will have their hands full with a pesky Bucks club that excels in its own arena tonight, so grab as many points as your man’s willing to give you in this spot….
