These are two hot teams, but we like the value of getting the Dallas Mavericks at this depressed price at home over the Portland Trail Blazers.

After all, the Mavericks are returning home after sweeping their Florida road trip with wins over the Heat and Magic, and they are now 6-2 both straight up and against the spread in their last eight games. Most impressive is the fact that four of those wins came on the road, and the two home wins during this stretch were by an average of 15.5 points.

Sure, the Blazers have won and covered five straight games, but three of those were at home, one of them was at the Los Angeles Clippers, and their win at New Orleans on Monday was a gift as they overcame a huge deficit after Chris Paul got injured for the Hornets. Also, home teams have done well in this head-to-head series, going 6-1 in the last seven meetings.

Look for the Mavericks to continue this pattern tonight at a rather cheap line at home.
