The 6-0 Iowa Hawkeyes may have a difficult time keeping their perfect record in tact when they visit the 5-1 Wisconsin Badgers today, but we do feel their defense will rise up to the challenge and at the very least keep this game Under this total.

Iowa is allowing only 15.8 points per game, and they have been very strong against the pass, allowing just 171.0 passing yards per game on a terrific 5.4 yards per attempt. This is significant because, while Wisconsin quarterback Scott Tolzien has completed 64.1 percent of his passes for nearly 1300 yards, he has not handled pressure very well. His two interceptions vs. Ohio State were returned for touchdowns, as this Iowa defense is not much of a drop-off from OSU.

Iowa tends to be conservative offensively as rely on the defense, and this should be especially true in this game because the last thing they would want to do is get caught up in a shootout with Wisconsin. Thus, as long as the defense keeps the Hawkeyes in this game, or better yet if they have a lead, do not look for Richard Stanzi to take many chances.

Now while the Badgers are better known for their offense, you cannot overlook their defense either. They did hold Ohio State to just 184 total yards last week, and they can easily keep this Iowa offense in check with a similar effort. Also, while Wisconsin been able to run up the score on most of the Big Ten in recent years, they have managed just 16 and 17 points respectively the last two seasons vs. this Hawkeye defense.

Look for this game to top out in the low 40s.
