The Patriots smacked the Steelers right in the mouth in their game last week. Because nobody really believes that the Patriots will lose any one of the teams left on their schedule, most NFL bettors have all ready penciled the Patriots in at 16 and 0 for the regular season. That’s pretty incredible.

I don’t even have big enough cojones to say that the Patriots won’t go 16 and 0. I still think they will be ripe for an upset in the playoffs because of the soft schedule that they’ve played this year, but I won’t go far enough to say that they won’t make it to the Super Bowl.

Here are the important trends:
The New England Patriots are 7 and 1 against the spread in their last 8 games on field turf.
The New York Jets are 1-8-1 against the spread in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.
The New England Patriots are 10 and 3 against the spread in their last 13 games at home.

That’s a crazy spread to deal with but the Patriots will be playing with fire in this game. The Pats didn’t cover for three games in a row before the ass-whipping they put on the Steelers.

If anything, they will be more motivated to beat the crap out of the Jets after Jets Coach Eric Mangini told about he Pats’ spying games. I have different feelings towards the Pats when it comes to that. I do think it’s wrong what they did, but at the same time, you probably shouldn’t tell-on your old coach.

That’s not cool. It’s especially not cool when your old coach is Bill Belichick who takes everything personally.

Forget about even thinking about this one. The Pats will crush the Jets by around 30 points.

I hate giving up that many points, but what can you do? The Patriots appear to be the solid choice this weekend.
