New Orleans vs. Arizona: Hall of Fame Game Prediction: August 5th 2012

The NFL Hall of Fame Game takes place on Canton, Ohio at 8pm on Sunday night. The Saints are a 2.5-point favorite in this game and the total is 37. There might be an issue as replacement refs are expected to take over in this game for the regular officials, who are in a contract dispute with the NFL.

New Orleans is coming off a 13-3 SU (12-4 ATS) season and Arizona was 8-8 SU (7-7-2 ATS). The Cards made some strides last season under coach Ken Whisenhunt, but will need to find a quarterback. Kevin Kolb can’t seem to stay healthy and John Skelton doesn’t have star potential. But they do have WR Larry Fitzgerald and big rookie WR Michael Floyd. New Orleans adds some defensive help, picking up DT Brodrick Bunkley, MLB Curtis Lofton and OLB David Hawthorne.

The Saints have very few injuries but they will be without LB Jonathan Vilma (suspended) and DE Will Smith (suspension) thanks to “bountygate”. Even more important, is the loss of head coach Sean Payton for the entire season. Associate coach Joe Vitt will take over but he’ll also miss the first six games.

Arizona is dealing with TE Jeff King (quad), who is out and RB Ryan Williams (knee), who is a game-time decision. QB Kevin Kolb (thigh) is expected to play and start. John Skelton should also get plenty of time as the backup qb.
