The Kansas City Chiefs (4-7 SU, 6-5 ATS, 3-8 O/U) have lost four straight games but fought very hard in their narrow 13-9 Week 12 loss to Pittsburgh. The Chiefs cashed in as a 10.5-point home underdog to snap a three-game ATS losing streak. The Chicago Bears (7-4 SU, 6-5 ATS, 7-4 O/U) are coming off a close 25-20 road loss at Oakland as backup quarterback Caleb Hanie filled in for Jay Cutler by throwing three first half interceptions to out his own team in a hole they could not overcome. Chicago failed to cover the NFL betting line as a 3-point road dog and saw its five-game SU and ATS winning streaks come to an abrupt halt.
Analysis: I know the Kansas City Chiefs are a mess right now, but I’m going to urge NFL gamblers everywhere to back the struggling Chiefs mostly because the recently signed Kyle Orton will give them a much better chance of winning than they previously had without Matt Cassel, while Chicago struggles a bit offensively as they try to limit Caleb Hanie from throwing another game away with a multitude of interceptions. The Chiefs are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog and an impressive 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games as a road underdog. While the Bears have gone 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall, Chicago is also 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games as a home favorite between 3.5 and 10.0 points and a very telling 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games in the month of December under head coach Lovie Smith. While I’m going to back the Chiefs against the spread in this contest, I also want to let Touthouse pro football bettors know that the under may be an even better play in this contest. The under is 4-0 in the L/4 meetings between these longtime pro football franchises and a spotless 6-0 in Kansas City’s last six games overall. Last but not least, the Under is also 5-2 in K.C’s L/7 games as a road underdog. Get more NFL picks for December 4th 2011 this weekend at Touthouse.com
