Dallas Stars (155)

The Dallas Stars defeated the Detroit Red Wings 1-0 last month after losing the first two meetings this year, and we give them a good chance to even the season series at a nice price here.

The Stars ended a three-game losing streak with a 3-0 shutout of the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday, as goaltender Marty Turco stopped 19 shots to improve to 30-16-4 with a 2.22 GAA and a nice .912 save percentage. Sure it has been a struggle offensively lately, but Turco and the Dallas defense gives the Stars a chance to win every game, which always makes then attractive as nice underdogs like this, and with three days off since their last game, perhaps the extra preparation could result in an improved offensive effort here.

Now obviously, this is no easy task as the Red Wings are 46-18-6 and have allowed the fewest goals in the league, at just 2.16 goals per game. However, they do not enjoy the big defensive advantage here as they usually do, and they may be short-handed here as wingers Tomas Holmstrom and Darren McCarty are both injured and defenseman Brett Lebda is fighting the flu. All three are listed as questionable here.

While this may not be another 1-0 final, we do expect a tight, low scoring game, so getting better than +150 looks like excellent value on the Stars here.
