They have covered against USC and Pittsburgh with similar numbers and we expect another cover on Saturday in Palo Alto. The Cardinal, like the Irish are coming off a devastating home loss despite being a big favorite. Stanford had a strong chance to go to the Rose Bowl had they beaten California, but that has gone by the wayside and the winner of the Civil War will be in Pasadena playing Ohio State. We now know that the Irish do not quite when getting down big early and if that happens in this game, I still expect them to make a run and get within a field goal. That is all that we need in this game but expect the Irish to win straight-up and send Coach Weis out with a victory in what will likely be his final game as coach.
