The NC State Wolfpack meet the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in Birmingham in the 2008 Papajohns.com Bowl. This is NC State’s first bowl game under second-year coach O’Brien and its first since beating South Florida in the 2005 Meineke Bowl. The Wolfpack are 12-10-1 all-time in bowl games and they haven’t had a win in their last three bowl games. Overall, this is Rutgers fifth showing in a bowl game, having posted a 2-2 record in their prior bowl games. Rutgers has won each of their last two bowl appearances, including a 52-30 win over Ball Sate in last season’s International Bowl. This game is the first-ever meeting between Rutgers and NC State.
