The smartest BetUS wager in this should be the under. I don’t see either team really pushing the pace in this one. The Spurs are without top point-guard Tony Parker. The Celtics are a terrific defensive team who only run after causing turnovers. Keep the under in mind when handicapping this game. Of course, we still want to handicap this game against the spread, right?
Here are some trends:
The San Antonio Spurs have gone 5 and 5 against the spread in their last 10 games.
The San Antonio Spurs have gone 3 and 3 against the spread in their last 6 games.
The Boston Celtics have gone 7 and 3 against the spread in their last 10 games.
The Boston Celtics have gone 4 and 2 against the spread in their last 6 games.
This is a serious game in the sense that we could be looking at a potential NBA Finals match-up. In that sense I have to think about how superior the Celtics are offensively if Kevin Garnett plays in this game.
I say if because Garnett is listed as questionable for Friday’s game. He will probably be listed as questionable on Sunday’s game. If KG plays then I actually like the Celtics all the way up to a BetUS NBA line of six points. They are just as good defensively as the Spurs and are probably better offensively.
That makes the Celtics one of the better plays this weekend. Rarely does a game-in-game parlay present itself in the NBA. This weekend it definitely does as the line should be around 4 points or less in this game. The under should be doable as well.
The predicted BetUS basketball line is Boston Celtics – 3.5 against the spread at home versus the San Antonio Spurs.
I actually like the Celtics with or without KG playing in this game. With Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, they will be good enough to beat a Tony Parker less Spurs team.
The Celtics to cover.
