San Antonio Spurs @ Indiana Pacers o194.0 (-110)
Tue Feb 5 ‘08 7:05p

The (29-16) San Antonio Spurs invade the Midwest looking to build off their impressive Thursday night TNT win at Phoenix to take on the (19-29) Indiana Pacers. The defending champs currently sit two games in back of both Dallas and New Orleans for the top spot in the Southwest Division. Indiana has been playing some real shoddy basketball of late that’s seen them only be able to capture a pair of victories in their L/10 overall games. However, the Spurs sport a losing mark on the road this season (9-11 SU), and they’ve only managed a 7-13 (35%) ATS mark. That being said, the Pacers have only managed 9 wins in 22 home games this season, and a .500 mark ATS going 11-11.

As mentioned earlier, the Spurs put an end to their 3-game losing streak by knocking off the Suns last Thursday night. However, they lost outright at Seattle 88-85 as 7.5-point road favorites before that, and lost a tough one at Utah, 97-91, as 2.5-point road pups. The rodeo trip hasn’t gotten off to the greatest of starts, but the it’s now time to pick on the lesser Eastern Conference of which the Spurs have rolled against in recent years.

The Pacers come into this one losers of six in a row, but we last saw them last Saturday night at home against the Orlando Magic. The Pacers held a 2-point lead at the half, but the 3rd quarter saw them get outscored by 11 points, and the Magic held on to pick up the 121-115 road win and cover as 3.5-point road favorites. The loss was the Pacers third straight at home and fourth in their L/5 tries in the Canseco Fieldhouse.

San Antonio opened as 3.5-point road favorites with the ‘Total’ set at 194’. Since then, overnight bettors have raised the Spurs to 5.5-point favorites making the Pacers a little more attractive as decent sized home underdogs. These teams are yet to square off this season, but the Spurs have captured 7 of their L/10 SU while each team captured 5 ATS wins during that stretch. All the trends expect foresee a high scoring game that is to be won SU by the Pacers. The home team has covered the spread in each of their L/7 meetings, while San Antonio is 0-4 ATS their L/4 trips to Indiana. Total bettors take note: The Over is 5-0 ATS the L/5 times they’ve squared off in Indiana, and 9-1 ATS their L/10 overall battles.
