San Antonio Spurs vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Picks & Odds: February 21st
Free Sports Picks, NBA Basketball Picks February 21st, 2008San Antonio Spurs (- 7.5) vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (+ 7.5) Picks & Odds
The Spurs have finally started to play like a real against the BetUS spread team going 6 and 4 in their last 10. Nice. Finally. Are there any other superlatives I need to lay on this team? The T’Wolves, who mortgaged the farm (that means KG) to get - - nobody - - have gone a decent 6 and 4 against the BetUS spread in their last 10 games as well. That is more impressive because the T’Wolves straight-up record of 11 and 41 is absolutely mind-boggling. That’s really bad.
The San Antonio Spurs are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games versus a team with a straight-up losing record.
The San Antonio Spurs are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games following an against the spread win.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games on a Thursday night.
The San Antonio Spurs are 6 and 1 against the spread in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.
The Spurs have not been the most capable team in the NBA when it comes to either covering BetUS spreads. They hover around .500 on the season going 25-26-1 against the spread so far this season.
The question in this game is whether or not the Spurs will get their lead to double-digits. The chances of the T’Wolves finding a way to win this game is none to nil. That’s none to none which means that unless Tim Duncan falls down the stairs on his way from the bus to the arena, I don’t see the T’Wolves winning.
I also don’t see them keeping this game close. I absolutely hate taking the Spurs because, well, they are always a difficult bet to cover, but I have to go with them in this one because they have been okay against the BetUS spread lately and have been even better against the spread when playing the T’Wolves.
The T’Wolves have nothing going for them. I can’t even name a single young player on their team that could potentially help them in the future. They’re just a bad team. Because the Spurs see their main rivals making serious moves to nab their crown (the Mavs trading for Kidd, the Suns for Shaqtus, and the Lakers for Gasol), San Antonio cannot take it easy during any Western Conference match-up.
