While the Spurs have been better on the road, we still think it is a bit too early for them to be legitimate road favorites after stumbling to a 2-6 record on the road this season. Since a strong start last season on the road this team has regressed and has now dropped 13 of their last 16 road games ATS. We think they are in for another tough game tonight against a very scrappy Minnesota team that has lots of young talent. This T-Wolves team always seems to get up for big games. They got big road wins in recent games against the Mavs and Clippers and they also hung tight with Oklahoma City and Miami earlier this season. They also have home wins against the Mavs and they also beat this same Spurs team, with Manu Ginobili in the lineup, on this same court by double digits. While the Spurs are the better team on paper, this team seems to play down to its competition on the road. Even in their two road wins they barely won. Last time out against a New Orleans team in major rebuilding mode they won by only two and they needed OT to get by an Orlando team that was playing its third game in three nights. We expect this Minnesota team to take care of business tonight and get the win. This team seems to have something to prove and they have some current and future all stars on the team that seem to really get up to play top teams. Also, Minnesota has covered four of the last five meetings in this series and we think that trend will continue on Friday. The Spurs have been at their best offensively at home where they are scoring 103.4 points per game. They should have little trouble putting the ball in the basket tonight versus a Sacramento team that is giving up 103.5 points per game on the road.

The Sacramento offense has struggled the last six games but showed signs of life Wednesday by scoring 92 points in a win over the Pacers despite shooting just 30.1% from the field. The low shooting percentage doesn’t come as that big of a shocker considering Indiana ranks No. 1 in the NBA in field goal percentage defense. The shots will fall easier tonight against a San Antonio defense that is allowing its foes to shoot 45.6% from the field (24th in the NBA)
