The Giants won the Super Bowl as Eli Manning came through with his second ring. He still turns it over (20 times) a little too much but now has a great combo in Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. The defense is loaded with great pass rushers including Justin Tuck and Jason Pierre-Paul. The offense has to replace Brandon Jacobs at running back. Ahmad Bradshaw will be joined by rookie David Wilson in the backfield. The Jags are looking for more offense under new coach Mike Mularkey. They had the worst passing offense (136.2ypg) in the NFL last year. Blaine Gabbert had his struggles as a rookie. They did pick up Chad Henne from Miami to push him. They also added former Giants CB Aaron Ross, to improve the secondary. WR Justin Blackmon should add talent to a dreadful receiving corps. RB Maurice Jones-Drew is holding out for a new deal.
The Giants need about a series out of Manning. After that, it’s David Carr time for most of the game. The Jags will go with Gabbert and then Henne, followed by Palmer.
Jacksonville has RB Maurice Jones-Drew is holding out. Rashad Jennings takes over. WR Justin Blackmon just ended his holdout on Tuesday. Might not play. TE Zach Miller (torn pec) is out. OG Will Rackley (ankle) is out 3-4 weeks. NY Giants: CB Terrell Thomas (knee) is out 4-8 weeks.
