The temperature is expected to be 79 degrees with a chance of thunderstorms.
Schiano comes over from Rutgers to take over for Raheem Morris, who was fired. He needs QB Josh Freeman to improve on a season where he threw 22 picks. They added a lot of pieces in the offseason including WR Vincent Jackson and OG Carl Nicks. Their defense gets better with the additions of DT Amboi Okoye and CB Eric Wright. Miami adds Philbin from the Green Bay Packers, who replaces Tony Sparano. The key for the Fins will be at quarterback where they signed David Garrard and drafted Ryan Tannehill, an athlete from Texas A&M. Matt Moore though is the incumbent. They are still a year or two away as they drafted top WR Brandon Marshall to Chicago and their lack a big back. Reggie Bush did show he could be a full-time back last year with 1,006 yds. Chad Johnson (no longer Ochocinco) will try his hand at the new west coast offense.
Tampa Bay has Dan Orlovsky and Brett Ratliff behind Freeman, who should play the first quarter. Miami will likely go with Garrard and Moore, then Tannehill.
Tampa Bay will be without WR Arellious Benn (knee) for 2-3 weeks. LT Donald Penn (calf) is also out. Miami has three capable starting quarterbacks and Garrard leads the pack right now, even after sitting out last season with a back injury, Moore is second and Tannehill is third. All signs point to Garrard starting and Moore coming off the bench.
